Never has there been a 2 game stretch

I'm sure some blame lies with the officials... but this team sucks right now. I don't know where the team that beat Duke went, but I want them back.

Don't blame the refs tonight. We were up 21, the refs didn't help that comeback.
We were up 21. Tennessee had shot 0 free throws prior to that. Somehow miraculously they get 13 in the final 5 minutes of the first half. Scoring 13 of their final 23 points of the half at the line.

Where we played well enough to win both times and lost due to refs. Soo mad at the refs and not upset with UK at all. Like not one iota.

Refs were pretty bad IMO but they didn't cost us this one. Terrible loss tonight. This one is gonna sting for awhile.

Blaming the refs is stupid (and pathetic)

UK sucks and got their asses handed to them.

Lots of issues, refs aren't one

Officials absolutely had a huge hand in why we lost both games. 84 effing free throws in the span of 2 games!!!!!

Yeah, I guess are guys just forget how to play basketball on the road, huh?

Im amazed someone mentioned it in another thread, But have some of you ever wondered if officiating gets into a players head? WHat the hell is Poythress supposed to think?

"Ok, so when I'm on defense, I can't touch them.. but when I have the ball i have to try and jump with a player on my back?"

For 40 minutes. It's eventually going to get in your head.

And further, mentioned also a few weeks back, is it any surprise that Town (and Randle to a lesser extent) are killing it at an early age in the pros?

How is it that we do SO well in neutral court games, and our players thrive in the NBA? What our players just miraculously take 1-year at Kentucky and turn it into an equal or BETTER first few years in the pros?

Is anyone starting to put this together, yet?

Our record and front court stats say otherwise

Don't get me wrong, they're both trying, but it comes up short both mentally and physically
you have no stat to gauge toughness. both players are willing to mix it up. i still disagree.

So you are just going to say "I disagree" and not offer an explanation? Makes me think you are just wanting to be different.
what explanation did you give? you agreed with a statement. you can agree or disagree with a statement, because it's a statement of opinion.

I can't believe any UK fan would defend the officials after the last two "games" we just watched. NCAA basketball has about become unwatchable, at least to those who watch things closely.

You could see it happen. UK gets a 20pt lead and Barnes starts getting testy with the officials, no way can his team be this bad! "Really ref! We're better than Kentucky!" Refs give in a bit and TN takes advantage, then gets hot from the arc and *really* starts to take advantage. Officials didn't expect things to get quite this out of hand, they were just trying to appease the hometown crowd and coaches a bit. But by this point it's too late. They've gotten a bunch of our guys in foul trouble and we're playing tight all of a sudden due to their officiating screwups. It happens on the road almost every. single. night. in the SEC - not just against us either.

I hardly even watch games live anymore - it's not worth the heartache to see our guys play their hearts out and have an unaccountable, potentially corrupt "official" steal from them the rightful outcome of their hard work. You guys that aren't seeing this happening are... I don't know, just not watching close enough I guess. I don't question your fanhood, but man, it's right in front of our eyes. Heck, Brad Nessler who gives officials every benefit of the doubt every time was even talking about it on the air tonight.

I just want to know what it's going to take for the NCAA to take basketball seriously and incorporate some of the officiating improvements in basketball that they did in football. They are ruining the game!

What annoys me is the inconsistency of the calls and, I agree with the OP, we seem to consistently get the short end of the inconsistency. How do you make that call on Briscoe for just standing there and having the Tennessee player land on him? That was his 4th foul and obviously put him at a disadvantage for the rest of the game.....heck, he gave up a layup to keep from getting his 5th foul later. How do you Alex for bodying on defense, yet allow Tennessee to beat the hell out of him on the offensive end and call nothing? Look, we should have won this game, but the refs definitely were pitiful. During the first part of the second half, I would like to know what percentage of UT's offens

5 losses against teams outside the RPI top 50
3-6 away from home
out rebounded in 5 of our 6 losses

Like I said, they definitely try, but they are, on the whole, soft. I like them both and wish they weren't but our record and lack of production in the paint states otherwise.

the guys you are calling out start for kentucky. this means you need to sell them being soft more than i need to sell to you that they're not. because we're 16-6 they are soft? sorry dude that make no sense. how does our team record prove anything in this argument? what stats prove their individual toughness? you got anything?

in fact you've already split what you meant by toughness down to mental and physical. what you said is they are soft. stand by your statement. there is no stat for that.

out rebounded in 5 of 6 losses? that's neat. says a lot about willis and poythress' toughness. especially since we're a top 25 rebounding team in the country.
