From the stories coming out of Morgantown, he may soon be the ex- coach. Starting quarterback just jumped into transfer portal. Half the team transferring.

Hate to hear it. Thought he did a strong job at Troy, and was impressed with what he did in Lexington. WVU is a tough place to recruit to. UK has taken away the fringe guys in Ohio they would normally want, and they haven't been as lucky in Florida as Rich Rod and early Holgerson were. It's harder for them to recruit Maryland now too with Locksley. Tavon Austin would go to MD today.

Being in the B12 probably screwed them. How do you get kids to join your program if the parents have to go across the Mississippi to see games? How do you recruit local B12 country kids if you don't have much of a recruiting budget (plus get their parents to Morgantown for home games)?

Just a much tougher job than 15 years ago, imo.

Damn shame. Brown is a great dude. Wonder if he might be done with HC stints. If so, maybe he'd consider being OC at UK some day down the road.

We gave up 18 sacks all year, and that's playing in the SEC. We gave up 6 today with a makeshift offensive line. It totally changed how we could play on offense. But then, you'd have to understand a bit about football instead of just reacting emotionally to realize that.
Played many years and understand Football just fine ! Coen Called a bad game for at least three quarters of the game ! Am i glad we have him? You bet your ass because he like Stoops will only get better ! I

Do we define if they score he called a good game and if they don't he called a bad game. I saw some miss wide open throws, some missed holes, a lot of missed blocks, was that the play calling or execution?

For me it was Personnel Issues 4th and one putting your smallest back in when they shutting down the run most of the game ! The line was intact except for LT

One is one too many, but how many fumbles did CRod lose this year?

I understand that, do you understand you have to have more than 1 back to play Div 1 football. Smoke averaged almost 5.5 ypc. You think that isn't an effective back, you have no clue how football works. But yes you are correct CRod is our #1 back

I love McClain But he is not our 3rd or 4th down back Unless your using a Fullback to open holes ! We have to have a bigger back with meat on their bones ! It all worked out in the end thank the Football Gods

Yeah I’m not here to totally trash coen or anything but that last drive kind of shows the mistake he was making in the first half. Gotta go with Rodriguez and he has the chance to break tackles down in the red zone. McClain does not.

I guess it is always better to learn while winning ! one day that guy will be real Good !

Neal has an impossible job. Recruit a team of kids from Penn, Ohio, Va, Fl to play in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas.

The man is a great complete game coach, he started as just a passing game expert but has learned and excelled at all aspects of the game since leaving UK and going to Troy. Don't mind saying I hope he is call #1 if Stoops left, I believe he would continue the winning formula here very well

I was consistently disappoint in Browns schemes during his time here. They said he came from run and gun, spread offense, I was yes please, more of that, but he ran lunch pail, up the gut, and drop back passing and never gave the offense an identity. Troy can have him back.
Just a chance he had someone looking over his shoulder--you think maybe?

BS on the smoke oberservation. He's going to be an excellentl back when he gets more carries.

Honestly....I just am not a big fan on being in the shotgun every single play and that is what Brown runs. I like the versatility with Coen's scheme to run the ball from under center, in shotgun, pitch plays to the oustside while still keeping the physical stuff between tackles, jet sweeps to WR, etc...

I sort of think the style Brown runs is a step back for UK. I love the versatility of this offense scheme and hope Stoops looks for Coen #2 if Liam gets a shot at another job.

I agree. Holgerson had been wanting out of there for a few seasons. I don’t think Neal would get serious consideration if Stoops left without showing something at wvu but it’s a difficult place to show something at these days

Neal has never shown an explosive offense. Just because you claim to run air raid doesn't mean you do it successfully. Not everyone that runs it does it as well as Leach or Heupel..

... For the next few seasons, probably. Wasn't talking about replacing Coen right now. Very happy with what he's done.

Only natural for a great up-and-comer to fledge sooner or later. Either for a more high profile OC gig, NFL, or even a HC stint. Would be nice to have someone in mind that we could call.

Not today we don't
