This will give a further edge to staffs that are able to evaluate large quantities in short order
Lots of tampering and a lot of guys they will scout during the season for sure that they wanna prioritize if they enter.
I still think it’s stupid that the portal opens after the 2nd round games of the NCAA tournament. Coaches in the tournament are at a disadvantage since they are preparing for the next weeks games and their players haven’t made a decision (usually) yet on staying, going pro, or transferring. I think they need to reevaluate when that basketball portal is open.
The dumber one is the football window. It's December 9 - 28. There are still 42 teams who are in bowl games AFTER the portal closes.
Yeah, the basketball portal makes zero sense because the fall semester doesn't start until late August at most schools. The football portal needs to be moved back some, but still keep in mind a mid-January spring semester start date for guys who want to enroll and go through spring practice.
