nbadraft.net has DROPPED Skal completely off the 2016 draft board

I agree with Skal off the board...he's a bust right now.

But If there are 11 better players in this draft better than Murray...I'd be shocked. I'll give you Simmons for sure and maybe Ingram on his length/potential. But if you take Ivan Rabb, Jaylen Brown's broken jumper, Poetl, Brice Johnson and a few soft European players...then you're nuts. Murray is tearing it up and his scoring prowess is phenominal.

That's a pretty bad list. Also I believe Ulis will go this year, IMO. Either way seems we'll be pretty stacked next year.

It would actually be 10 players that would be picked ahead of Murray but I could easily see that many ahead of him. If you watch enough cbb you see there are a lot of talented players out there that have something to offer certain NBA teams. Buddy Heild SHOULD go right behind Simmons but it depends on what the team that has the #2 pick needs. I don't have a problem with Murray at 11, I think that's pretty good for a young kid his size. It's not like he's overly athletic. He just does a lot of things well.

We all knew it was coming. There simply is no indication that he could add any value to an NBA team for a least a couple/few years, and you don't spend first round picks on guys that you don't think can help you in the near future.

11 seems a little low for Murray IMO but not way off line. I think he will make a better pro than college player personally, when teams are forced to guard him man to man. We all know how good he is at creating shots off the ball, but the zone really hinders his ability to create shots with the ball. Instead he has tried to force it at times resulting in TO's. When teams have to guard him man to man though, I think he will show how good he is off the dribble as well.

In his defense, they have him top 10 next year though.

I think he's the type of talent that will just have a breakout year once everything clicks for him. It may be year 2, or maybe even year 3, but I think at some point he goes from a late first rounder or even outside the first round to a top 10 guy.

There's a difference between dropping and projecting that he won't leave. They're doing the latter, and as JRP said, still projecting im lottery next year.

Not that surprising. Skal is easily the biggest bust, at least to date, of the Cal era. I don't think any of this team looks to have much of an NBA future except Murray and possibly Ulis. Lee and Poythress will probably get a shot as 2nd round picks. Perhaps Briscoe if his shooting improves more. The good news is there's another great class on the way, and I can't imagine they will work out anything like this bunch has.

I am not sure what is going on here....I think Cal said this in September....I picked that up from a post game quote a few weeks ago. He does not seem to be basketball smart, he seems unmotivated, he is so weak, I mean everytime he touches the ball if anyone is around and bumps him or touches the ball he drops it. I am not sure that in four years he would be a player. Shagari Alleyene or Woo or Bobby Perry were all ahead of him at this time...and the kid who wore the goggles when BCG was here....He won't get off the bench next year..I know he has struggles but how could a kid be rated so highly and just not show up. If he had been rated about number 30-50 I could understand but everyone had him at number 1-2....just goes to show you what the recruiting gurus know...

They dropped him because there is a chance (very slim IMO) he doesn't leave.

For those of you calling him a bust...please just stop. It 1) makes you look ignorant and more importantly 2) makes you look like a horrendous fan.

I thought that website was found to be horrible last year or the year before. Can't remember

I used to not be so critical of our players but these guys are planning on being one and done...well if they think this board is tough wait until they read the Philly or New York papers about their performance.
Exactly. People dont I understand how much major cities media crushes the home pro team. Makes Tipton look like a 5 year old try to get his big brother in trouble because he took his candy.

It makes me wonder how hard it can be to adjust to the college level........high school ball probably is a lot easier to play than college.

No Bragg or Diallo from KU either.
I think no matter how underwhelming Skal is this season, he's a first rounder because you can draft a potential stud at say #20 and develop him for a couple of years in the D-League.

Skal (I believe) will return. And playing (next year) with Bam will free him to be who he is and stop trying to be who he never can be.

NBAdraft.net is and has always been the Wikipedia of draft websites. Run by a bunch of amateurs. STOP CITING NBADRAFT.NET. There are far more reputable websites out there like DraftExpress, which year after year is consistently by far the most accurate of all draft websites, so why cite one run by clueless amateurs?

If you were an NBA coach< would you draft Skal. He is way too timid. Hopefully, Cal can pull that out of him

All I'm saying is if Skal is on this team next year, it's going to be scary. I don't care how bad he looks right this minute, the kid is going to be a fantastic player when he adjusts to his style of play and gets comfortable. When Skal had his 26 point game, everyone thought he was the #1 pick in the draft. He can't get any worse than he is right now. He's raw with ZERO confidence. The pressure is on his shoulders right now like he's never experienced. If he's another piece on next year's team next to an absolutely dominant class, he will be more of what we thought he'd be. I hope he flips the switch this year and finds his groove to help this team come tournament time (likely, IMO), but if he stays on this path for the rest of the year and is forced to return, that's another offseason of bulking up and developing his game. He's just not ready yet, but he will be eventually.

So let me get this straight. Because I have a well informed opinion that's different from yours I'm ignorant and a horrendous fan? Whatever.

Skal is a bust in a relation to his ranking. No one is saying he will never be good, just he isn't meeting expectations.

I said he would fall and fall hard off the board about 3 to 4 weeks ago and no, not every thought it was coming. We had plenty her kept denying it.

HES SO SKILLED. THEY WILL DRAFT HIM LOTTERY ON "this and that" ALONE!!!!

rememeber.

Thats the worst mock draft site around.

DraftExpress is the most credible & knowledgable available & he's still in their top-10.

This is very true, however unless he continues to really really improve, he won't stay there either.

To lazy to look it up, but doesn't Cal recruit expecting 4-5 players to leave for the draft? If only 1 or 2 leave will UK have room? Actually more upperclassman might be just what the team needs.

Nbadraft.net has been known as the worst mock draft site for several years because they don't talk to scouts or have any league connections. It amazes me when people still post it as if it means a thing.

As for Jamal Murray as the #11 pick, that's pathetic. As a Celtics fan, I'm hoping our Minnesota Timberwolves top 12 protected pick for 2016 comes to life, and we take him at 13. All we need is for Minnesota to stop sucking and start winning games, along with some lottery luck lol. If Minnesota picks 13th, and we get that pick, I'll HAPPILY "take" Murray with it. What a freaking steal. He deserves to be top 5, and I'd take him with our Brooklyn Nets unprotected first as well. If any NBA franchise is dumb enough to pass on Murray, I pray the Celtics aren't one of them. Murray DOMINATED against GROWN MEN during the Pan-Am games, and is constantly proving his superstar potential at UK. Makes NBA-level shots. Circus shots are normal at this point for him. He's a legit scorer, and is developing quickly on defense. Takes dumb shots sometimes, of course. He's a teenager. We've already seen progress in that department throughout the year. The kid is going to be a stud in the NBA, and I'm just hoping my Celtics find a way to snag him with one of their dozens of picks.
