Really doesn't matter to me at all. I think the only freshman we should take are kids from Ky or an Anthony Davis caliber freshman. We'd be much better off taking mature and proven players. That's how you build a Championship level team in modern times.

I would encourage my kid to take all his visits even if he knew where he wanted to go. Why not let him enjoy the process. Getting upset over a visit is crazy. He will either be at UK or he won’t. I personally think the for that type of money being thrown around UK would be better off in the portal.
I’d just start recruiting a portal player at this point. I get wanting the most money but this dude wants nothing but the money, how you gonna make a final list this late and then go on another visit. Cal is desperate so they will overpay again.
I already think 3 million is a little high. If someone offers more so be it. We could easily get 2 elite portal guys for that,
I know that prices continue to rise and Dybantsa deal will make the top 5 guys wants much more. Cooper Flagg reportedly got just over 2 million this year. If Ament gets more than him it’s a joke.

There is plenty of data about top 10 rated guys and five star over the years. The key is paying the SGA’s of the world a lot less than the Kevin Knox’s. Weeding out the not ready upper end talent and finding diamonds in the rough.
I bet Knox tries to go pro. He always seemed like he was dead set on one year. He’s got way more time this year and if he can get a round 2 grade he’s gone.
Walmart/Tyson money is deepest pockets in SEC, so who knows what Ament's motivation will be in selecting where he spends next year.

I don't think Arkansas can get too far out of line with what they have promised Acuff and Thomas or there will be a problem.
I especially don't think Acuff's camp would go for Nate doubling him up.

I think they will absolutely lose Knox. Likely everyone but Richmond and maybe Wagner.
I can't figure out why everyone keeps believing these numbers. We don't know UK or any other schools budget and we don't know what the players are actually getting. Everyone involved has an incentive to lie upwards - the agents, the reporters, the players, the teams, the companies...everyone.
Also that money for Arkansas was said to be for all sports and over several years.
You always have to be careful with these ‘numbers’ that people hear. Schools can’t comment on NIL, and collectives won’t comment. No collectives want to reveal the actual details of the warchest for strategic reasons. IMO that’s the biggest issue with the NCAA punting on NIL. We’re going to get a collective that is embezzling money somewhere soon, there’s just too much money. And there’s too much necessary secrecy. Agents love releasing fake numbers to artificially inflate the market. You’re dealing with a limited commodity, so perception can be priceless. It’s not like Duke can call up UK and ask if they really offered 5 million or whatever.
In reality, I heard last week that Louisville, Duke and UK were all in the 1.7-2 million range with none of them wanting to go any higher. And as I posted about Ament a week ago on here, I expect him to go to Duke or Louisville if it’s about the school and fit. If it ends up being solely money he goes to Arkansas. And him scheduling an Arkansas visit now makes me think they are taking the big swing. And the fact that he’s going means he’s definitely interested.

The schools should "hold the power". The players are students enrolled at that school. The primary purpose of that school is EDUCATION. At least it has been. If it is no longer going to be that way then the sports teams should be a separate institution run by the school where the players are not students, don't got to classes and are simply paid employees of the school.

I heard we as a team we around 5-6 million. No way could I see one dude getting that kinda cash. Your budget would double not to mention one guy making more than the rest of the team combined. Maybe if he was LeBron or something.
