Honestly didn’t look like an awful hit but to see his body lock up like that didn’t look good. Instant head trauma. Have to wonder if this could end his career? Concussions can be long lasting.

Look at the hits that ended Austin Collie's career. His body, specifically his hands, locked up the same way.

Tua may be done. That is scarey and really dangerous. I dont think anyone can play him in good faith, certainly not this year.

This is absolutely abhorrent. Dolphins organization is going to be in deep doodoo for this, and rightly so. I hope to God this young man has not suffered permanent brain damage from OBVIOUSLY being concussed twice in a four-day span, but I would be shocked if he hasn’t.

I think the NFL wanted the Tua and Joe Burrow rematch in a prime time game and looked the other way when the Dolphins decided to play him.
As others have pointed out, the NFL for tax purposes is just entertainment, same as WWE. Each season has been scripted, especially under Roger Goodell. Everyone has to learn the script before each week. You can tell it’s rigged by spread, over/under, officiating, etc.

A little off topic but do believe that the United States was able to put a man on the moon in 1969?

This. It’s how LA won the SB last year and I’m not even a bengals fan.

Obviously they can’t control every game but there are story lines they like to push

Yup, they faked a concussion because the nation wanted to see Teddy Bridgewater.

NFL is going to have to contract independent neurologists and assign them to each NFL game. Team doctors are employed and paid by the "team". Wouldn't shock me at all if the NFLPA asked for it as well.

How about it’s his choice to play or not and if he does and it gets worse it’s his problem? Jeez grief everyone has to be a victim. What the hell is wrong with some people.

The default position for muscles is locked to keep gravity from pulling us down. The central nervous system keeps the right balance between tensions in the muscles so that we can move and perform tasks. When the central nervous system is knocked off line the muscles revert to full lock. It happens when we faint. I passed out standing up and they said I fell stiff as a board. Fainting is temporary but when it happens because of head trauma it indicates a serious ibjury.

Right because concussed people and with CTE are known to make the best possible decisions of all time. The brain fog and millions of dollars and adoration of fans and pressuring coaches certainly would never influence a player to make a terrible decision for their future health.

Because its just like the prize fighter thats getting his brains bashed in but wants to continue and Angelo Dundee throws in the towel to prevent further annihilation and brain damage.

I thought they had already done that.

So it's not a good idea to deny your star QBs obvious concussion was a concussion, call it a back injury, then run him out 4 days later?
He should have never been on the field last night.

NFL better get some more independent physicians making the call on these matters, and a player saying "I'm okay" doesn't cut it.

Tua looked like a late 1980s Mike Tyson victim during the previous game...a boxing ref would have sat down Tua with a TKO considering his inability to stand on his own.

This is an example of poor execution of an otherwise admirable concussion protocol.

GBB!

Honestly I think the games have already been acted out. I don’t know anyone who went to the game live, do you? Pretty sure they are all played at the studios in Hollywood then they digitally add the crowd, change the field for each home team, etc.

I've been to a few games, they must have been holograms. It's amazing what they can do with technology.

Same thing happened to burrow last season but bc of the virus distraction of testing and vaccination it was completely overlooked.

The NFL virtue signaling about player safety is a complete joke. If they gave one rats ass about player safety they’d have cut the season back to 14 games, not expand it to 17.

Leagues may not rig games, but they definitely have preferred match ups that they wouldn't mind, or hope to, see. Best example is the NCAA basketball brackets every year.

That was horrific. Surely hope he gets in complete health before ever stepping on the field again.

These Thursday night games are the real culprit here. Not enough recovery time for these players. If the NFL cared about player safety, the Thursday night games would end. Period.
