My MSU buddy just texted me this. Supposed Swanigan Retweet?

I'm already tired of seeing Swanigan's name. Move on, kid. Giddy on up to one of the inferior schools on your list and spend your lone season preparing for the mid-second round of the draft already.
I hope he comes to UK, but insisting he automatically loses draft position by going elsewhere is arrogant and ridiculous. We have players that come in and are drafted higher than players ranked higher out of high school. It happens the other way some as well, Poythress was rated 8th, Johnson was considered the 2nd best center in the class, the Harrisons were ranked as the top point and 2g in their class.

Percentage wise the odds are much better here than elsewhere that a top 20 recruit ends up in the 1st round.

This kid may end up at Cal but if so, I think those 3 are playing with Fire regarding their futures. Neither Cuonzo
nor Cal have any history with those type of kids, managing the egos, or having to develop players that fast. They will be the whole team. If those guys fail to make the tournament and look dismal in thre process, do all their games become more scrutinized as a result?

Not sure what will happen but I do know you've got a proven commodity (UK) versus a huge gamble.

If you can play the NBA will find you. You can play in Europe or Junior College or the OVC, they will usually find you.

Of course that logic works for a transcendent talent like Davis, KAT, Wiggins etc. For the next tier, though, it very much depends on perception around you. There have been tons of top 10 players who would've been lotto picks had they not been forced to college, then dropped based on their performance and the perception around it.

Now, whete the fault lays when that happens is up for debate. Most people would agree that he coach shoulders st least some of the credit/blame for where that next tier of kids ends up.

In the case of Calipari, he had a track record of getting those kids where they wanna go more often than not. Cuonzo Martin has positively zero track record of that (or winning at any reasonable level, for that matter)

Actually, Swanigan is ranked barely within the top 20 incoming freshmen, so my assertion that he's a OAD second round pick is more accurate than your implication that he's destined for a higher draft pick. I think his choosing California or Purdue would simply maintain his current status.

I'm not sure where your assertion of my arrogance actually makes any sense when taking my point for what is actually is. Are you just feeling argumentative today?
