My doctors take on Marcus lee's back spasms..

Muscle spasms can be the most painful back pain you can have, I have had a lumbar fusion and know first hand. The disc rupture in a nerve canal is a different kind of pain, it's more of a dull continued pain. Spasms can feel like someone is stabbing you with a knife!

My doctor from north medical in Liverpool NY.. Stated that back spasms only last 1 to 2 days.. I happened to tell him a uk player has back spasms.. He goes " oh he'll be fine.. He also stated when's his next game.. I said Saturday night at 6 pm.. He said he'll be fine hes a sports guy he gets treatment.. Also went on to say ill be shocked if he doesnt play.. Because my doctor is a uk fan too just like me lol.

How do you trust a doctor that doesn't know what time the game is tomorrow?

Last year my doctor told me that we would beat Wisconsin. I thought he knew what he was talking about because he did his residency at UK and his wife is from Lexington. Well, we all know how that turned out.

Thinking I need to sue that guy for malpractice or something.

He would be wrong, I twisted my back a few days ago, and still having back spasms, esp when I am trying to sleep

I've had all kinds of back issues. Mostly disc problems with nerve pain. I did have back spasms once and it was excruciating. Any little movement and it felt like my back muscles tightened up so much like they were getting electrocuted. About the closest thing I can think of to describe the pain. As bad as it was it only took like a day or two to go away. I had no treatment besides rest. So hopefully Lee will be good to go today.

Saw my doctor and told him about Lee, he said to have him take two shots of bourbon, straight up, 15 minutes before tip and that he would be fine...:grimace:

All about pain threshold...i guess later tonight we will see what a couple of our guys are all about. Most young guys usually have to be tied to the bench not to play. Can you imagine Ulis being told you are not playing tonight??? Please.

It is a good thing now with the internet that we can get a doctors opinion as to how to treat our players back spasms etc... as the game is still underway. We can post our diagnosis of the injury and treatment. If someone on the bench has a cell phone they can come here to get an opinion as to what to do. That would seem to be helpful to the training staff.
