My doctor from north medical in Liverpool NY.. Stated that back spasms only last 1 to 2 days.. I happened to tell him a uk player has back spasms.. He goes " oh he'll be fine.. He also stated when's his next game.. I said Saturday night at 6 pm.. He said he'll be fine hes a sports guy he gets treatment.. Also went on to say ill be shocked if he doesnt play.. Because my doctor is a uk fan too just like me lol.

Unfortunately that's not always the case. Several players a year have back spasms in the NBA and many have to miss a few games. Carmelo back in 2014 is a good example. I think another real big player this year, either college or pro, had spasms that lingered, keeping him off the court.

My doctor also went on to say Lee might need to rest Friday.. Then give it a go on saturday.. Basically saying rest it and don't over due it..

Yep, it'll be a wait and see game. Hopefully this isn't something that lingers.
Me too I hope he can just rest it off.. Come back and try to give it a go.. If he can't I can deff see humphries and wynyard getting more minutes.. against a and m Saturday..

I only seen the second half of the game they looked pretty good without Lee, did Poythress play, don't remember seeing him either

Exactly. Around the Louisville game I was sick with Pneumonia and a twisted kidney and I asked my doctor about Ulis's shoulder arm elbow. He told me not to worry about it and that Ulis will recover quickly. Damn if he wasn't right.

That's the beauty of this team.. We have bodies.. Bodies like humphries and wynyard.. That's why we shouldn't be worried with or without Lee and poythress.. The way these guards play it takes a lot of pressure off our bigs especially willis.. Uk has made 40 threes the past 4 games.. That says it all..

I laughed out loud when Seth Greenberg was talking about Lee's back and mentioned how not having him would hurt UK the rest of the game and (the moment of panic to follow), "going forward."

I can guarantee that placing such an anecdotal statement, based upon ZERO expertise, and zero factual support, sent a solid percentage of our attentive fans into a frenzy. What! they thought. Lee might be done for a long stretch of time?!?! Oh no!!!!

Now, we have something new to worry about. Seems like there's always something available. If it's not three point shooting, it's the lack of bigs; when the shooters find their percentages up and the bigs start to play adequately, suddenly it's whether AP will return or not; when it's clear AP is returning, suddenly it's Lee's back spasms.

You have to appreciate the cyclically induced sub-panic in all this.

Lee with a day of rest and medication could go on saturday night but dont be surprised if he only plays about 10 minutes before back spasms start again. Cal should start Humphries and play Skal first off the bench Saturday and if they are holding down the fort, let Lee rest.

A UK fan had to ask ."when is the next game"? Wouldn't trust that doctor.:scream:

Ah, Wynward isn't playing this year.

I'm not a doctor but I play one on the internet. From what I saw I say Lee injured his back on the failed lob attempt, will get limited minutes vs TAMU and be ready to roll next Tuesday.

You saw your Doc after the injury?

I asked my Witch Doctor and he said goo goo galunda which means that on my death bed I will receive total consciousness.

I watched Dr. Who the other day and I'm pretty sure Lee has a fungal infection.

We should contact Dr House . This thread has more potential than incoming UK hoops signee ..and thats a LOT . to the OP Chris .. Please Please keep us posted on how your MD in NY feels about the health of the Cats !!!! Can he give us the scoop on Willis's Knee's ?

We need Cats Paws or the other resident photoshop expert to give a pic of the young new teen " Doctor" in Florida examining Marcus

Maybe somebody can give the doctor a few pointers to help poythress heal faster lol

This thread has a lot of potential.

Can someone reach out to their Orthopedic doctor to get a read on Cal's hip? Could a flare up of pain from the hip replacement have contributed to Cal's short fuse in the South Carolina game. We should probably find that out before tomorrow.

That 18 yr old fake doctor told me Lee is iffy for tomorrow and Alex may not be back at all. Seems legit.

If it was that bad it seems weird he sat on the bench the rest of the game. Why wouldn't he be getting treatment?

When he was out and at the bench Lee was laid out at end of bench and you could tell how the trainer was working on him it looked like spasms. There was also some misunderstanding after the game in Coach Cal's post-game and some thought Coach Cal said that with both Alex and now Lee out that it would make it tough for Saturday's night game at TA&M. Coach Cal actually said that if Lee was out along with Alex being out that would make it tough on Kentucky vs. TA&M on the road Saturday night. Lee only played 17 minutes vs. UT Thursday night with 4 points and 4 rebounds. Humphries and Labissiere had a combined 30 minutes and had 8 points and 10 rebounds so that was too bad. Also, Briscoe had 10 rebounds and Murray had 9 rebounds. Ulis even had 5 rebounds to give the Guards 24 total rebounds. Pretty good for the guards. It would be nice to have Lee's game that he had at South Carolina going for 11 points and 13 rebounds but he played for 36 minutes. I don't look for Lee to play 36 minutes Saturday with Spasms unless the trainer's have worked on him postgame Thursday night and all day Friday getting him ready for the game and his back is doing better by Saturday night. Even if we can get 20-25 minutes of good baskeball from Lee with Humphries and Skal also getting there minutes.

Muscular spams aren't doodly, get a bulged disc that pinches the sciatic nerve in either or both legs and you are in real pain and pretty much useless.Nothing worse than Spinal Pain 24-7 though,I can vouch.

This. It totally depends on what is causing the back spasms is. If it's simply cramps from dehydration etc. he will be fine. If it's being caused by the Sciatic nerve being pinched, he's got bigger problems. I certainly hope that's not the case. I've had bouts of sciatic pain so bad, I couldn't walk or function for a week.
