Mr. Football accepts PWO at UK

The state of Georgia played the season and didn't give their Sr. an option. Did a large number take advantage of doing that? Were they allowed to take college classes that 5th year?

A kid could be as old as Stetson Bennett by the time he graduates. Stetson will turn 25 in Oct.
I don't think it was a large # but there were several. As far as college classes go, all these kids that have the grades are taking dual credit classes. Without the extra year a lot of the kids have 30-45 hrs of college credit before they leave HS. I know one kid that should be a Sr this year that is taking the extra year and will be doing all college courses the last year.

Thanks, that is some good info, I been out of teaching/coaching for almost 20 years, really hard to believe but it is what it is. Back then there were quite a few kids that didn't have much of a class load and only went to school till lunch. Classes giving college credit were just starting. Heck of a good deal to get some college classes. That option you mentioned a kid spent an extra year in HS and took all college classes should have been the valedictorian. Saved 25% of his college expenses.

My niece is paying her daughter $10,000 for taking so many college classes in HS. She has 60 credit hours which is saving her a ton of money and she's giving a chunk of it to her for busting her ass so hard. It's wild what you can save by taking those classes in hs.

Back in my day that wasn't an option, and me being a poor student I was lucky to be doing high school work.

Yeah my daughter had 56 credit hrs when she graduated HS. She was fortunate that the college she’s attending accepted all her credits. Some kids are actually getting associate degrees by the time they graduate HS.

That's pretty cool. Like I said earlier I wasn't a great student but having a year done when I graduated high school might have motivated me a little. But paying my own way sure did.
