It's likely from Wisconsin or the UP. And it would be a Wisconsin mountain lion that can travel all the way to Tennessee or Kentucky. The deer in northern Illinois are much nicer though. Also, I'm shocked that a Kentucky Mountain Lion made it that far north.
Very true.I'm still shocked that people act as if Cougars are some big mythical creature that don't exist in appalachia.
Ok you need some help.Very true.

Then sasquatch, goatsquatch...it never ends.Yesterday, a 4’ black bear was spotted across the street from me and police issued a warning to residents via email. I live 10 miles outside of NYC.
Mountian Lions are next to enjoy the bountiful food source.
Pics from the Ky Dept of Wildlife or it’s not true.I'm still shocked that people act as if Mountain Lions/Panthers/Puma/Cougars are some big mythical creature that don't exist in appalachia.
I have lots of Mountain Lion friends, so it's cool.Racist.
Where was this?Watched one walk across the field next to ours last spring. Thing was bigger than a German shepherd. Black long tail. Got some pics next to some round bales the farmer had out there. Along with a few others for scope and size. It was eery and impressive.
Wildlife told us it was a housecat. And ignored us. Wouldn't send anyone out to even glance. Saw it several times over a week or two.

Cindy Crawford is from DeKalb County.Nothing for the folks in DeKalb County to be alarmed about here. The linked article mistakenly omitted the fact that this particular mountain lion got confused & roamed a little northwest of its normal habitat.
Had 3 black bears in my yard Sunday. Of course we're in the mountains of WNC and they're all over here- at one point new jersey had the largest black bear population per square mile in the US...not sure if that's still the case.
^lots of wilderness....once you leave metro areas. The garden state as they say.
You people.I have lots of Mountain Lion friends, so it's cool.
Well, she’s a cougarCindy Crawford is from DeKalb County.
We got a picture of several on a trail cam around Louisville. People keep saying they aren't here. i show them the picture... They say "well that could be anything. It doesn't prove its a mountain lion.".I'm still shocked that people act as if Mountain Lions/Panthers/Puma/Cougars are some big mythical creature that don't exist in appalachia.
No amount of evidence will convince a fool. -- Mark Twain.
Dad was a game warden. He saw the mountain lions on Ft. KNOX. He helped take plaster casts of the tracks. 2 of my uncles saw them. Hunters saw them. They exist and are here. And breeding. (Mamma lion, 1 cub, verified) has to be a daddy somewhere)
Ok you need some help.
That is a lounge lizard or a road whore, I can't tell. This is a cougar.

Well by Gawd that is some specific inside info I never expected to receive when I made that post.Yep. Was the DeKalb night weekly slut of the week and a real piece of work way back in the mid 80s. Couldn't get in to NIU, so she went to the local community college. Still weird to see her as a model and difficult to see her in a different light than back then. Doesn't help that she and Gere were a thing...

Watching Halloween and when Loomis stops to make a call, Illinois appears to be a great desert. And there may have been mountains in the background. You may be on to something.must be all the mountains in illinois.
yeah, I suspect when the biologists run the dna, it will turn out to be a Midwestern Corn Lion.must be all the mountains in illinois.
