Most Wins vs. Top 15 in NCAA History

Not being up for Coach of the Year is crazy.
Just had too many losses. And it's even worse that you have Pearl, Oats, and Gates in our own conference, all of whom are or were doing insanely well (we kinda polished off Gates) today. I mean Mizzou didn't win a single freaking game last season in conference, so, as much as I dislike him, Gates has done great this year (all the more reason I'm glad we beat that ass on the road).

Pope SHOULD have been in the conversation though.

Without injuries we would have the ALL-TIME record for wins over top-15 in a season. In Mark Pope’s FIRST FREAKIN YEAR!!

Pope is elite, and so is this team. I hope they can come together and give it everything they’ve got this postseason.

I think by the Numbers it's this year's SEC, like the 2007 ACC, and then that Big East year. It's been insane how good this conference has been.
I think it’s not out of the realm of possibility to have four SEC teams in the final four. Doubt that will be the case, but there are at least that many final four contenders in the conference.

Losing 4 of 5 in January took him out of the conversation unfortunately.

Still think he should at least be in the conversation. I completely understand if there are other coaches with a better resume but you can't tell me he isn't a top 7 coach this year.

Don’t disagree, just saying he was in a lot of people’s conversations until that stretch.

I thought our D would go up, but we gave up a bunch of threes and layups the laat few minutes so we didn't foul, but our defense is greatly improved, it's definitely better than 55th.
Other than a few careless turnovers the only issue I still had was our defensive rebounding could have cost us the game if it was close . We have gotten better but we need to go after those 50/50 balls like your life depends on it GO CATS HUGE HUGE WIN TODAY

Yeah, we threw the ball away at least 3 times while trying to inbound, a couple were out of a timeout. That's not normal for this team, but they did so many other things well.

I loved the lineups today, Pope played his best possible combinations all game long. We're really tough when he does that.

Most top 15 wins in a regular season in UK history.

We have a tendency to discuss (hyperventilate, second guess, deride) players and coaches when they fail to live up to expectation (desire, fantasy).
Sometimes we talk about these guys as rejects from the island of unwanted toys, with their coach being unwanted toy prime.

In the Kentucky history books now.

Actually pretty remarkable.

Another #1 NCAA basketball record, Kentucky now shares that record too. If I'm not mistaken, we now share that record with dUKe and ........ Indiana.

So we can all imagine how old THAT record is.

Add another #1 beside our name for the list. Man, I wish we still had that updated and stickied. The biggest failing on this board is not immortalizing "the list" ... Maybe Jon Scott could resurrect it from his records in total compilation ? I dunno.

where's "The List" when we need it ?

Chandler is showing why you shouldn’t totally give up on a player. Maybe if Kahlil Whitney had stayed and worked hard he would not be thought of as one of the biggest busts ever here. Instead he quit and tried to go pro for some reason.

We’ve had a bunch do that!

That would be maddening if UK wasn't one of them. We've owned the SEC for 100 years and the one year 4 could make the FF UK probably isn't in the mix..

Yeah we not even giving Vols a final four chance because they always lose by E8. Florida is sneaky good with Auburn and Alabama being true final four contenders. I'm not gonna be mad if Pearl wins his. Wish we could make it to E8 game against one of these SEC teams and play a high level game like Auburn and Alabama did today. Not for sure if the ole heart can take a true March barn burner since it's been a while.

Five losses to SEC teams ranked below us, it’s now pretty hard to win on the road in this conference unless you’re elite. Great year either way, beating so many ranked teams with this roster and injuries is pretty amazing when you think about it.
