Debating between Knox and Wiltjer. Not discussing their success at UK, just how surprising it was when they committed here. It seems that everyone had Knox going to Duke or UNC, and Wiltjer was probably our first blue chip recruit from the west coast.

Teague's commitment certainly was a fun surprise for Louisville fans who were all so 100 percent dead certain that UL had him locked up.

Oh to see the looks on their faces when he instead said UK on decision day ...or on national championship day the following April.

Definitely Kevin Knox. Thought for sure he was Duke bound.

Not that you asked, but on the flip side, I thought Zion was UK bound. I know towards the end of his recruitment, UK was fading as a favorite. But man, still thought he was UKs to lose...

Terrance Jones. He announced for Washington and everyone was mid meltdown when when it started to leak he was changing to UK.

Kid had no business being at the collegiate level, and yet Couch Cal does exactly what he ridiculed others for, (because he was caught with his pants down) and reclassifies a kid, who should have been enjoying his senior year in high school. Then he throws him in the deep end to drown, as his Plan B.

T Jones or Knox.

Maybe not surprising, but Monk’s commitment cause a lot of yelling and screaming from a certain SEC fan base.

But I got agree on Knox. He was Duke bound.

Knox just wasn’t as good as advertised though. Sadly.

Knox was supposed to be going elsewhere.
Nerlens was supposed to be going to Gtown until the last minute.
Jones because he picked Washington ... then backed out.

Those are the 3 for me. Then Murray and Bledsoe.

Nolan Hickman. I didn't see that coming at all. (meaning his actual initial commitment, not the decommitment)

Knox yeah but Zion really was a surprise, thought it was Clemson at the end.

Wenyan Gabriel. I was a lurker on here during those days. Wild day on this board to say the least.

Agreed. The two names who immediately came to my mind are Wiltjer and Knox.

Ha…….. Ha…….. ????

Like he was any better the following years?

Probably Wiltjer. Top 20 McDonald’s All-American committed without even visiting.

Wiltjer. He hadn't even visited. I'm not even sure he was wanted really badly. Jumped up and committed on TV.
