Most pretentious movie you have ever seen?

2006 oscars literally became nothing but a huge debate between that movie and Brokeback Mountain. And neither were as good as Munich or Capote.

Good call. Effing t-e-r-r-i-b-l-e. And strange too. WTF.
That scene where the 12 year olds fondled each other was disgusting and I can't believe a parent signed their kid up for it.

Howards End (another Emma Thompson non epic, IIRC). Should have been called Howards Endless

But I did really like Birdman, so my opinion may be suspect.

I feel like Wes Anderson movies are like Reality TV. Sometimes I catch myself watching them and then a moment of clarity comes over me and I think, "what the hell am I doing? This is not entertaining?"

20 years ago the movie "When a Man Loves a Woman" was released and I had to take my wife (girlfriend then) to see this turd. The majority was dialogue that was more looks and posing than an exchange of words. Women in the theater were losing their minds. Sniffing and crying all over the place and I thought I was missing subtitles or something.

I love a lot of the movies listed, especially Moonrise Kingdom and 2001, but my vote goes to The Tree of Life.

Eraserhead sucks, and Crash is a ripoff of Magnolia but about racism.
