Duke has 5 players on the list.
And the Top 2. The state of Carolina has three of the Top 5 and four of the top 6.
Being a complete dbag must be the “Carolina Way”.
So apparently white guys are are hated at a disproportionate level.
Pretty much any arrogant white guy who ever played for Duke will find himself on these lists.
It’s because they have usurped us as the bigggest brand in CBB. They did this years ago.

I hate Laettner with a passion, but minus the stomp he wasn’t nearly as guilty of being of a tool as Allen is. I mean Allen trips people, acts like a spoiled brat by throwing temper tantrums on the sideline, and then act like he’s Gods gift to basketball. That’s the trifecta of tooldom.
People generally hate whiny overgrown children.
More than half. 15 of the 25 are white guys.
These “most hated athlete” type lists always skew that way. So it kinda begs the question: why do we hate white players more?

Most are arrogant, play dirty or are whiny. Checks out.
And usually come from pretty high end schools so they give off that preppy vibe too. No one likes well-off arrogant asses that most of everything was basically handed to them.
White guys typically stick around for all 4 years. They're like sweat bees trying to fly in your ear for four years, nonstop.
No more like the early 90s. When Duke finally cashed in a title and the national media designated them as the brand.
I’m surprised at a few of them. I don’t remember some of them being hated at the time they played.
God they’re awful. I had on hang around me for like an hour. Didn’t matter where I went or what I did to it. Buzz buzz. Finally squashed the stupid thing.
No surprise when your scumbag coach tolerates kicking and flopping, spitting on refs, crying on the floor and other such behavior. Knight II, just more polished.

Michael Graham should not only be on this list, but top 10, at worst. He was thug #1 for those dirty, mid-80s Georgetown teams & NOBODY liked him. Seemed like he was involved in at least one confrontation every time I watched them play.
Kelly Tripuka and Bill Laimbeer from Norte Dame have you to be on that list. Also Kent Benson from IU.
I’m actually surprised Ewing made the list. The Hoya Paranoia was like BLM of CBB. I’m surprised we’re even allowed to hate any of them.
Was just thinking Tripuka also. Couldn’t stand that guy. Had he played 20 years later, he would have been at Duke and made top 5.
I loved watching Skiles. Yeah, he was cocky as hell, but boy did that pasty pudgy little dude ever back it up. I think he was one of the most entertaining college players ever.
That is a good question. It seems to me that white players are singled out by opponents. I may be wrong but perhaps it is because people are afraid to boo black athletes for not wanting to appear racist. Whatever it is, it appears to be a white on white hate thing.
