Along the lines of the worst quarterback thread. What game did you actually attend and leave the most disappointed?

This past Saturday is definitely up there, but #1 for me is the '09 loss to Tennessee in OT. We win that game, we are 8-4 and likely bound for Tampa. I moped about that one for two weeks afterward.

Two jump out for me; both against UT; don't ask me the years...

> Mark Higgs stopped 4 times on the goal line

> UK driving for winning score late in 4th quarter; QB clobbered on option play; UT player grabs pitch/fumble in air and returns it about 90 yards for cinching score

Honorable Mention

> UK bottles up Herschel Walker for about 3 and 3/4 quarters; then boom; 80 yard game winner.

> 7 OT loss to AR. Somehow this one did not "disappoint" as much because I was in awe of the football spectacle I witnessed.

Peace

Where to begin.

Mark Higgs goal line against UT.
Chris Doering TD in final seconds
Alabama-- last min drive to win after we led the whole game.

LSU miracle

You do enjoy starting these types of threads don't you?

There are so many, I don't even know where to start:

1) UT 4 OT loss in 07
2) UT OT loss in 09 (give Cobb the damn ball!)
3) Doering
4) Lorenzen against UF after leading 21-3 at end of 3Q

So many more, I don't want to be depressed before bed.

I guess I do. I am a huge fan and hope we win every game. But I do think it is fair to embrace the Chicago Cub fan aspect of being a Cat football fan. It is endearing. It is going to make it so much better when we finally break loose.

Does anyone remember the game that we hit on the long pass and the wide receiver fell at like the 5 yard line to end the game?

No one around him. It was one of the small wr's. I can't for the life of me remember.

Don't really remember that. Who was the receiver from Louisville Male or Manuel that killed us against TN after we had a 28-0 lead. He was supposed to come to UK and went to TN and killed us in the second half. I think he is serving 15-20 now.

2007 Tennessee
2009 Tennessee
2011 Louisville (I knew this was the beginning of the end for the Joker Era)
2015 Florida
2003 (..? The JLo INT game) Florida

'07 Mississippi State game, the team didn't show up at all and they kicked our tails handily. We were ranked 14th at the time if I remember correctly.

Either last Saturday or the one where we went to all of those overtimes with Arkansas.

The florida game 45-38 the week after we took down lsu in 3ot. College gameday, etc. Tebow hit that stupid jump pass. Ack

We lost to Ohio in the mid 2000's. I just about gave up on the cats for good after that one.

I'd add the 1999 opener (of the first "new" Commonwealth Stadium) against Louisville, when John L. and Chris Redman absolutely set us on fire.

That wound up being arguably Mumme's best team (.500 in SEC play ... last time that happened?), but we got destroyed on that day.

The 1998 Georgia game when the holder (Matt Mumme?) fumbled the snap and Hanson didn't attempt the FG that could've won the game.

Really, no way he makes that FG (about 50 yards?), but would've still been nice to see the ball go up in the air.

At UT when we punted the ball in the last few minutes on a short field instead of going for it. That was when I said I would never pay money to see a Joker coached team.

Years of therapy have kept me from remembering all those heart wrenching losses. Time to apply the shock therapy the MD said to use when I started relieving the past of UK football.

Was it Clyde Rudolph vs. SE Louisiana or something like that? I remember listening to it on the radio back when Wal-Mart was open on Outer Loop in Louisville. My memory is terrible but I distinctly remember that when I was about 12-13 years old.

Anyway, mine was the LSU game in 2002. I call it the "Lucky as Hail Mary" play; sounds better than the Bluegrass Miracle. I sat in the student section for about 20 minutes just shocked.

How about the game against Florida where we were up by 18 points going into the 4th quarter. Lorenzen throws a stupid pick which was returned to the 1 yard line and we eventually lose. Can't remember the year.

This is a terrible thread and a terrible list. That being said I agree with all the games I see on here (the ones I've attended) but would have to add the 4 OT Arkansas loss with Matt Jones looking like an All-American.

This past Saturday game does not even rank in the Top 10. KY competed with UF and had a shot to win on the last drive. Sucks they lost, but they were in it to win it.

I have seen so many beatings in CWS that I cannot even form a Top 5 list.

Actually it was a 7OT loss (I was there for that one too), but who's counting?

It was Clyde Rudolph, and it was the last play of the game. He took a swing pass and was going in untouched for the game winning TD. Stumbled and fell on his own at about the 3 and that was it, the "signature" moment of a 1-10 season.

3 way tie 1988 vs Alabama, 1993 vs Florida 2002 vs LSU all last second losses! And they all hurt equally as much!

I've just relived some horrible memories. Some I had successfully suppressed.

I had forgot about Derek Homer running over Georgia and then losing without the chance at a field goal.

We are truly a punished group.

LSU Bluegrass Miracle is by far the worst for me. Devery Henderson ran it in right in front of me (I had 3rd row seats in the endzone).

The next in line was the 7OT game vs. Arkansas...that was pretty awful too.
