More Reeves Updates- this A.M.

Cal didn't get talent for 4 years. We had terrible guards for years. Quickly and maxey were the last good ones. But obviously we not talking about point guards tyty and Wallace were very good.

You compare a guy that can't get drafted to the 2010 team? Unbelievable.
You don't get it, I'm not saying Antonio Reeves is John Wall, but what I am saying is, John Wall, Bledsoe, Patterson, Dodson etc..all combined to shoot 2-32 from 3 point range and in your eyes, that’s fine, because 3 of those guys were NBA talents, but if a guy like Reeves has a terrible game, he’s trash and no longer wanted.

Reeves was never brought in to be a go to guy, he was supposed to he a role player. Cal had Oscar, Wallace, Wheeler and Toppin as his leaders. You’re hating on a kid that was only supposed to be a role player, but was being counted on to lead the team along with Oscar and Wallace. That’s not fair to Antonio.

My apologies, I had the wrong players returning, but my point still stands, those NBA talents had terrible games in their 2nd round loss, but apparently it's okay, because they're NBA talents.

But it’s not okay when Reeves, a role player, that has much better stats and saved our bacon multiple times, is garbage, because he missed shots. He didn't quit, or 'Shaedon Sharpe' us, no, he… a role player, had a bad game, so we no longer want him back to be a role player again. That's not weird to you?

It seems like if reeves was gonna stay they will announce it this week. If he knows he is getting the most money here and also going to get a big role, but apparently not a mega leadership role, then no reason to hold this up.
I dunno, do they actually HAVE to tell us anything?

Today was the intial period where they said reeves would announce he is back, if goes past today, then you have to wonder how true these rumours were/are
I wouldn't put too much weight on what you're putting weight on. IIRC, they said 1-2 days, but we really shouldn't take that literally, especially when there are details that still need to get hashed out.

Yeah, I just know the way college recruiting goes. My cousin is a going to be a senior and he has changed his mind like 15 times in the past 2 weeks about where he wants to go, so I just know how the process is, and IU, Illinois, and Michigan have to be desperate and in his ear extra know since it’s not looking as positive. Would the details that need to be hashed out the specifics of his NIL stuff and role in guessing

And he wants to play in the NBA, not with the attitude and playing ability you say he has, a role player. If he doesn’t want to be a leader why do we want him back? UK is the spotlight and with it comes pressure.

Why wouldn’t he try as hard as he could to get to the NBA? The guy had a great season on a big stage. His 37 point performance at Arkansas had to be a hell of a confidence builder. He proved he's a good player.

Why the hell would Antonio think of himself as a role player? He proved he's better than that, so that's why he doesn't want to play second fiddle to a group of freshmen. Now, I don't know this for a fact, but common sense is all that's needed here.

Antonio might not look at himself as a role player, but does that really matter when Cal is the coach? AR could be much better than the guys competing for minutes, but since he doesn't have 5 stars next to his name, Cal won't respect him as much, so I don't blame AR for exploring other options.

Antonio is a good shooter. That"s all he has to offer. He is a role player. He is valuable in his role. He does not have the upside these talented freshmen have. He also is not worth all the attention he is receiving. He should have just released a statement announcing whatever the hell he is planning to do. There is no need whatsoever for him to be calling some news conference and making people wait for his decision.

I certainly hope he's back but I will definitely be disappointed if he is the inaugural recipient of "la familia" money. 1) should've never came to that for a player of his caliber and 2) surely there was someone better to spend that money on

Sure everyone on the team will get some and more of this money. Reeves is worth some money but the market determines how much.

This whole Reeves situation only reinforces that CBB is dead. This feels more like farm league type garbage. There’s no way to sell yourself to the highest bidder and still have a passion for playing for the name on the front of the jersey. Such a shame to destroy it. That’s one reason I never followed the NBA. College always seemed like players played for the school and love of the game where the pros are paid professionals.

His academics keep him from being a grad transfer so UK expects him back but it keeps going back and fourth where he tells staff he's back but then they can't get a hold of him or his dad.
So basically a guessing game still. Did pilgrim still sound confident he is back
