More portal losses

Thought he’d be a good one after his UofL performance last year but then this year he couldn’t see the field. Gotta assume this offense was so bad even decent playmakers would have seen time. Guess the 2023 UofL performance was an aberration and/or he just didn’t improve. Good luck!
Willie Rodriquez took snaps away too the last half of the year. Hopefully he can build on that.

I dont think it was Anderson. I think our OC didn't know how to rotate players into the game effectively. You really need to have totally interchangeable parts so that the defense doesn't know what you're going to run when you switch personnel. We obviously didn't have that, and it's a coaching issue, rather than a talent issue.

Keep blaming the OC.

What is ironic is that NIL was supposed to benefit the student-athlete. And for many kids it may do that ... I know one kid making 10K a year to play D1 baseball. Which he wouldn't have gotten without NIL.

However, the actors that are benefiting the most are the big pocket teams as others have stated more eloquently.

I don't begrudge any of these athletes getting real NIL dollars. They should be able to get their own endorsements without restriction. I don't care if they get 20-30k in school expenses per year. I also don't care if they get a stipend so they don't have to work for spending/living money.

Pay to play is bullsht though. There should be a wage scale that increases with experience and role if each school wants to pay a living wage from revenue share. It should be level for all members within the association.

Only true NIL should be exempt from that equation.

I will say the 2023 class was a bust lol nit even two years later and over half the class is gone lol. Sometimes I wonder if we might be better off taking smaller Highschool classes and getting more portal players

Of course.

Keep supporting Stoops buddy. Keep propping this loser up.

I'm not your buddy, troll.

Keep creating new accounts, troll, so we can identify the real "loser."

You haven't been around here long, so I'll educate you-

I'm always behind the staff, but will ALSO always give credit and blame where it's due at seasons end. Sometimes, but prefer rarely, I do so during the season. This season and immediately I was very critical of our OC abandoning what was working for us, and will continue to be so.

For the football illiterate-

1 Not throwing to the TE is not a HC issue. It's a OC issue.
2 If you think Stoops was telling Hamdan not to throw to the TEs, your game is definitely not football.
3 If you think Stoops was telling Hamdan not to run the ball, especially when it's working and against a team that gives up running yardage to midmajors, there's no help for you unless it's by prescription.

Stoops has plenty of issues don't get me wrong. I've said as much enough on here. I don't think one down year and one bad year after Coen bailed twice unexpectedly is cause for any chicken littling. The staff has earned some grace with the 2 10 win seasons and 8 straight bowl games.

I don't know if it will matter, if we lose too many talented players and if we can't get what we need from the portal to immediately be competitive and beat the teams we got used to beating PLUS taking the next step. I don't even know if we can immediately be a bowl eligible team again. Nobody does

If we get worse he's gone. That much is pretty obvious. And if he's gone, and we're such an awesome football program, with so much money and history to offer, as so many here seem to wet dream it to be, we will have no trouble hiring a coach (Sumrall) away from any other school.

How do you honestly think 2025 is going to turn out? What is the point of going with Stoops to have another awful season?

He’s bsck
Bush is back

Walker, JJ, Djack, Dumas Johnson, Hairston, Ox, Rybka, Silver, Childress.

Key, Demi, 4 starting Oline, Kattus, Anderson, Maclin, Key

Rayburn kicking

All gone..even with their warts those are not just plug snd place pieces for Stoops to replace

I mean ask again outside of Mitch saving some damn buyout…what is the point of running this back

Or they know Stoops is staying.

That's possible, too. Or Hamdan.

They also have family and friends that have ears to hear "fans" and eyes to read boards, and might not like getting trashed weekly and blamed for losses individually, even when they're injured or not in the game.

Look what South Carolina, Vandy , Louisville, SMU, Indiana and many others were able to pull off this yr with transfer portal heavy rosters. It can be ‘fixed’ rather quickly with good evaluations , some luck and a great culture and vibe in the program . I’m willing to at least look at the roster come March or so , and see where we’re at

Honestly, with this coordinator, the (massive) losses you mention, and the schedule we will have, without the portal, we'd be doing amazing, if not incredible, if we won 6 games next year.

If we have the best class in the transfer portal, meeting our needs perfectly just for starting positions, I honestly think we could win 7 or 8 in the regular season, but only if we run a BALANCED offense that calls plays well, runs the ball well and when advantageous, and doesn't shoot itself in the foot repeatedly. The run will set up the passing game and vice versa once/if we're rolling.

Yet, even if we hit all of our needs spectacularly in the portals (winter and spring), but don't pull our heads out of our asses with the playcalling, and don't stop hurting ourselves with mind-numbing, lack-of-discipline penalties (and turnovers), and poor clock/resource management, we could end up with 4 wins again.

BUT

We STILL need a QB, even if Boley continues to develop. He seems a year away from being ready, but it's hard to tell with the playcalls and the OL playing as it did within that. I think HE CAN get us 4 wins though, without much further development.

...

Can UK go out and get a FKING QB coach, though. I mean an AWESOME QB COACH...? One that can coach a dual threat QB that has quick read potential? Because I still think that is what we need. Maybe we have those somehow already, and I just don't know it.

What a joke . Get ready for 3-9 next year boys 🤣
If Toledo is as good as I read they are 2/10 may be more likely .
They never seem to tell you WHY they enter the portal, even though they always seem to thank everybody. I wish they would provide specific reasons …
i think Mcklin did us a favor by having the courage to say “ no leadership “.

Hamdan. Stayed through stoops before.

Stoops said hes keep hamdan for continuity but i don't see an entire roster turnover as continuity.

No one has that kind of roster ‘continuity’ nowadays. A record number of kids will be in the portal this yr . To many teams , roster turnover is welcome somewhat. The type of continuity Stoops mentions is with systems , messaging , recruiting ( some relationships are nurtured for years ), etc. It affects everything and every position…OC changes = new blocking schemes for offensive line , tight end role in offense , etc, etc , etc

I don’t know. Talent rises to the top and the offense was putrid all year. I gotta thing if he was good he would have played a lot more than he has. Sometimes it’s not the coaches and players just aren’t SEV quality too.

Well, then we won't have "continuity" from here forward. Lol

In all seriousness, how can ANYONE believe that Stoops has any hand in this year's offense other than restricting anything uptempo? You know he didn't tell him NOT to run the ball this year.

Depends on whether there are politics being played. Also depends on whether you're getting a fair shot in practice to get reps in the game. Again, BH didnt have much of a rotation at TE.

ALSO, let's look at the complaints on here for example-

People were saying "Kattus sucked" on here before, during, and after the Ole Miss game. DID he suck, or did he not? Was it not worth giving someone else a shot when he struggled?

(I know he doesn't suck and is in fact a good player, but every time we lose some fans burn the entire program down and don't care who they burn with it. It gets worse every time, and you can hear it in the stands. For as loud as it can get on 3rd down, it can also be pretty quiet except for a few idiot drunks shouting obscenities at the players.)

Be careful brother, you starting to sound like Celine! LMAO.

Agree though, the teams should have a level revenue-sharing across all the teams.

But my post wasn't intended to come across as bashing the players. My bad if it did. My post was intended just the opposite. The rich institutions that are able and willing to pay will get the best players. Now, if we were Texas fans, then sure we might love having a multimillion $ QB holding the clipboard and maybe we'd say "no problemo". IDK. I'm tired lol

Lol! Funny you said that. Thats why I almost put in support for a CBA for the players just so no one would confuse it.

Yours didn't come across that way. I am just writing stream of consciousness stuff that's been on my mind at different points all season. Need to stop replying to people specifically when I'm not just addressing things they've said.

I'm not getting much sleep lately, either. Gonna change that after this weekend now that college football will be over until spring. The national title game is this weekend- the SEC Champiosnhip. Then a glorified playoff for the media, NCAA, and the officials to fatten their wallets and make up stories, but I won't likely watch much. If/When Georgia and/or Bama plays we may watch.

No surprise, I mean why would these guys or anybody want to be at UK when their own head coach doesn't want to be
Marrow tested the waters at Louisville and remains at UK. Stoops and marrow are both going to be at UK. We will be fine. Been watching uk football for 61 years. I have seen it all.

Just like cal place the blame on everyone but yourself you know " it's the coaches it's the players it's the fans " same old pass the buck we heard for 15 years from cal . Stoops has sucked the last 4 years like cal and he needs to go .
Blame NIL. Blame the portal. Grass seems greener on the other side of the fence. Players leaving is happening at all schools

You obviously do not understand football. a NT in a 3-4 defense is never going to put up huge stats. It is their job to demand double teams and clog running lanes.
Louisville rushed for over 300+ yards. Texas rushed 15 straight times to cement its victory

Our run defense was supposed to be good enough for us to possibly make the playoffs. Got beat by 4 teams where we were favored to win. Could not stop hardly anyone
