More Huggins drama at WVU

Just sad at this point. C'mon Bobby, you can't get infinite tries to not embarass your employer. I actually quite like the guy and his hardassedness but it's just over at this point, wrap it up and spend time with your family while getting help.

I presume this is just a ploy to squeeze out a more generous goodbye package out of WVU. No way he believes he can actually get the job back.

But it’s still an embarrassing move. Dude, legally you voluntarily resigned, you weren’t fired … can’t claim wrongful termination when you weren’t terminated. And WVU has damn solid cause grounds even if it had legally been a firing.

The more I think about this the more it makes no sense.

How can he be reinstated if he never resigned or fired?

I think he just wants WVU to say that he’s fired.

He’s now regretting that he left in the form of a resignation after his lawyer explained to him how much better a financial deal for him a firing would’ve been. So he’s trying to retract the resignation so he can instead get fired.

Ding ding ding we have a winner.

Because he's not rich enough already?

So much for Huggins being a "good dude" with a problem. He's showing his ass now......and that's saying something.

No kidding. Like dude is a multi-millionare. Has more money than most of us will ever see. And just won't fade into the sunset with some grace.
Money corrupts a lot of people. Most people today only put value in things that have favorable profit margins. It’s sad that so many succumb to the sin of greed but it what it is I guess.

Huggins is saying he never formally resigned. His wife sent a resignation letter via email.

The university released an email that came from an account belonging to "June Huggins" -- Huggins' wife -- to athletic director Wren Baker the day the head coach announced his resignation that said, "Please accept this correspondence as my formal notice of resignation as WVU Head Basketball Coach and as notice of my retirement from West Virginia University, effective immediately."

Sark pulled a similar move at USC. Why the Longhorns took him after that fiasco is beyond me.
Sark was holed up in his office doing lines of coke when the team was supposed to be practicing. This was after he appeared drunk at the "Salute To Troy" Event in front of the team, their parents, former players/coaches being honored, administration, etc......and speaking in a manner that was obvious he was under the influence.

Texas took him because he was successful under Nick Saban as an OC.

He’s got the perfect case —he was black-out drunk when he “resigned” and has no memory of it. Can’t hold him to that.
Oh yeah, his case for being so drunk he was too incapacitated to be responsible for any action he took is iron clad. It's open and shut. Of course, when he proves that case, he's also proving that he's unfit to have the job.

Question??

Would he not benefit more by resigning, opposed to being terminated? Contract wise---what he is owed, etc...?? Seems if FIRED, he potentially could be leaving lots of money, perks, benefits, etc....on the table.

WVU: Ok, fine. You're fired then instead.

So, he writes a letter to fans saying he will step down, publishes that on social media, and now claims he never did.

Wtf is wrong with him? His family needs to get ahold of him immediately before he does something permanent.
Thats what he wants. Then it becomes a leverage point for money. He doesn't actually expect to be reinstated. (Just my opinion)

He sounds like he knows how to party.

As a previous poster mentioned, this is nothing more than an attempt to force part or all of any buyout clause in his contract to be paid out as a settlement. His attorney got in his ear and advised him not to leave a potential payday on the table. I doubt Huggins has any illusions of actually being back on the sidelines for WVU.
