Now do all the championships Stoops has won. 😂😂. Cal will ALWAYS have one more NC than Stoops. Football only fans are stoked about mediocrity.

All you need is a football game like last years against Chattanooga to not feel proud and confident.
Im sure this football team will be tested even with a easier looking schedule but by who, is anybody's guess.
At least we do not have to play both alabama and georgia in the same reg season...

EXACTLY! To add to this I love UK in every sport even the soccer teams have started strong this season the Mens soccer team is ranked in the top 10!

I haven't read any further into the thread yet, but your post pretty much sums up my thoughts as well. I'm soon turn 60, so I've been quite fortunate to witness half of UK's BB Titles, and many, many incredible memories of course.
I've always loved football, and I've been a UK fan of both sports all my life, but Coach Stoops has done a tremendous job of making UK a contender no matter who we play now, and that's just awesome as hell to me.
I will always be a UK BB fan, but college hoops as a whole has taken a HUGE step back in the past several years. Football as a sport is, and always will be king, IMO.

I believe you don’t know your a$$ from your elbow. Facts: UK football has historically been awful. Facts: UK basketball is historically a top 3 program, #1 in many peoples eyes.

I would think that the typical UK hoops fan would want more than 1 from The Duck Tail given all of the talent that he has had over the years

Both equally, I think we have the potential for fantastic years in both sports. The Bahamas got be hyped for Basketball but nothing like starting out with Saturday football!

Every coach at UK that wasn't an alcoholic has won a natty, starting with Rupp. Get back to me when he wins a second.
As it is, his NBA factory has taken a lot of the fun out of UK bb for many people. I used to never miss a game. Last time I watched a complete game was probably 3 years ago or more. Tired of his schtick, tired of the constant churn of players. If you enjoy it, good for you, but a lot of people have had enough.

John Wooden is the only coach in history to have more talent at his disposal than John Calipari. He has 10 titles. Mike Khipocrite has probably had the 3rd most talent. He has 5 titles.

Love all UK sports but voted football just because it is now football season and we could have a very exciting team this season. Basketball team could be very good but I'll wait til their season starts to get excited for that. Next Saturday, I'll be in Kroger yelling for my Cats. Not in Rupp for quite awhile yet.

Same. There probably didn't use to be a bigger basketball fan than me, but Cal has slowly and systematically ruined our program to where I don't care anymore.
I will make it easy for you; get with me when Stoops wins an SEC championship.
One is better than none; but you have hit on an important point. Cal coaches with the weight of the world when it comes to expectations; Stoops has zero, which is why most fans are happy with beating 2 FCS schools and Vandy every year.

Cal has been a head coach for 30 years & didn’t win his first & only championship til his 20th season, IIRC. This is Stoops’ 10th season & he inherited a program that was at rock bottom. He’s been a HC for 1/3 of the time that Cal has & still has 10 years to equal Cal on winning his first NC. And, even though we were a little down when Cal took over, it was still much easier to recruit to UK basketball than UK football. We all know the history of the two programs.
And, it’s also a lot easier to turn around a basketball program. You can completely change a basketball program with 5-7 great players. It takes exponentially more to turn a football doormat into a championship program, especially playing in the best conference in the country. Not to mention, 68 teams get to play for a basketball championship every season & only 4 get that chance in football. I’m not saying that Stoops will ever win a NC. But, it’s not a fair comparison, especially now, when one has coached 3 times as long as the other & took 20 years to win his NC. It’s as apples & oranges as you can get.
Plus , Stoops doesn’t have a WWW type person “helping “ behind the scenes. Without his help Cal doesn’t have a single final four .
