This season sinks or swims based on what happens Saturday. A loss and we will be reeling the rest of the season. A win though and that would be a statement maker, a massive boost of confidence and 3 wins in conference 2 against UF and UT. Here’s the thing. We gotta get it done. We’ve come out of the bye weeks against UT in the past flat. Beating UT and UF in the same season should be a nice motivator because it hasn’t happened in a very long time. Hopefully this bye yields better fruit. We need the win. Stoops can’t afford to stall with 2 sub par back to back seasons. That will hurt recruiting. Win Saturday and we re back on the map with momentum!

I'm afraid that the team has given up on Leary and I will be shocked if we're even in this game let alone win it. I desperately wish that we would but I don't see how we pull it out without 200+ yards from Davis and a lights out game by the secondary.

Here's hoping we don't snap the ball with 1-2 seconds left on EVERY PLAY...

This season is already lost.

Will be interested to see how Stoops adjusts against Heupel considering what’s happened in the past. Does he have the football IQ to go toe-to-toe with his offense? Will he blame his Jimmy & Joes or lack thereof?

Seems like we have a lot of “defining moment” games so the notion becomes a bit dithered the more we apply that label. BUT….I agee with OP. Beating UT is great no matter what but tagging them with the L on Saturday makes up for the Mizzou & UGA disappointments.
Hoping the team has a fresh reset on the year after the bye week and comes out executing plays; maintaining discipline and pushing the Vols back to the Stone Age with Defense.

our fan base is hilarious, several of you are right, but you have no idea why lol. The reality is, on paper we should not beat Tennessee. So, this weekend is huge collectively based on the current trend, but this is not a game we should expect to win and let me clarify, I don't mean to hope to win, or hope this is the year we put it together. We have several fans who think we should beat Tennessee that we are the better team and program and its simply not true. That is why I say a lot of the doomsday peeps are right, but not for the right reasons.

A win would go along way to getting everyone back on board, but passing game must be the best it has ever been and the defense better play fast.

I just do not see how as a football player you could ever come out flat as a pancake in a game like this, hell I was amped to play Whitley County, however we continue to accomplish the impossible. Same thing against GA in what could've decided the east. Flat Flat Flat. We got off the bus almost wanting to get back on. The coaches packed it in when trailing by a few scores that's a loser mentality I don't care what anyone says. I was always taught to fight till 0:00 the lack of drive and urgency especially when trailing and need to speed up the pace is mind numbing. Knowing it's halfway through the 3rd quarter and your team is going to lose because we refuse to take even 35 seconds of play clock. Nope we HAVE TO USE ALL 40 SECONDS of every single play. Even if you score you've ran the time out on yourself.

Our defense is usually terrible against UT. For whatever reason we go full dumbo mode from the opening kick almost every year. How many monster gains do you remember Tennessee opening up with. I remember a few. In like 2009 first play was a TD on a dang screen pass, seems both hooker years they had guys running free, like the first play was a wide open TD last year. Until the team stops crapping it's diaper full when we line up against the UGAs and Tennessees of the world. somehow seem to be over the Florida juju I just don't see why we still act scared to play UT. You can show up to the game AT Florida like you expect to win, but piss down your leg at the vols it's maddening, you can kind of understand UGA hell they've lead the country in recruiting and basically pick who they want but UK as a program have had every opportunity you could ever pray for to pass up UT in relevance and somehow someway we mess it up.
