Idk if he’s a good fit or not but he doesn’t need to be 190 pounds to play in the sec lolI do not know if he can be developed as tall pg
But if he plays sg/sf, he will be bullied by every sec wing...
Also, his extremely low rim percentage (45.2 percent) in a bad league raises a ton of concerns
He needs to be 185-190 at least to compete in SEC
Yes! I really wanted us to get in contact with him.
A guy like this should be able to play defense. And yet Monmouth was one of the worst defensive teams in the country and Bashir had awful defensive metrics for whatever that is worth. If Bashir is a take they must see something that makes them think he can be adequate on that end.Bashir said to be a pro. May be the best three shooter in the country. Can't go by his 38% because he shoots a lot. Can get his own three just about anytime and has a perfect stroke. Very capable of high scoring games. All of BBN should hope we get this guy the way he can shoot.
Yeah, sort of like when Brea started with us. Brea got much better defensively and also developed a good driving game on offense. Bashir would probably develop more in this system with Pope.A guy like this should be able to play defense. And yet Monmouth was one of the worst defensive teams in the country and Bashir had awful defensive metrics for whatever that is worth. My concerns would be his defense, two point FG%, and the rate at which he gets to the foul line. All of those look pretty bad. But man, this kid looks great shooting from deep.
Exactly, surely someone has Lorenzon or Dinner Bell Mel's notes.I could give him some tips on weight gain. 10-15 lbs in the off season is child's play.
Most teams could use one shameless gunner.Feed him doughnuts and lock him in the weight room.
Seriously, idk. To me volume shooters pose issues. Whatever Pope thinks.
JR was listed 6'6" and 190. And we all thought he was soft AF around the rim, because he was. This dude is 25 lbs lighter. Idk man, that's a tough sell.He definitely has the height to fill out and get to a minimum of 175lbs.
But if he was 6’1 - 165lbs would you feel the same? Asking bc Dillingham was 6’1 - 160 to 170 depending on where you look (164 at the combine—UK listed at 174). —-Ulis was 149lbs at the combine: UK listed him at 160
If he was a 4man then there’s no question that he’s too light. But as a guard, with 6’7 height, he can get away with being 165-170…even if I’d rather see him north of 180.
Gotta be honest, if I put my mind to it and have an endless supply of funds...I can handle that 10-15 lbs in a long weekend. All valid points. I’d like to think/assume that if he’s at a major program with all the tools, top tier nutrition and weight staff around him, that his 6’7 frame could quickly put on 10-15lbs in an off season.
For sure it is, but his inefficiency at the rim just means SEC defenders are going to chase him off the line and make him put it on the floor and try to finish at the rim. We've seen this movie before. He probably won’t take almost 600 shots at UK.
Not every player is going to be a star in the portal. Bashir has a useful skill, making and generating 3 point shots, that gives him value on the market.
Guys that can generate over 10 3 attempts a game and make them at over 38% is a rare skill.
