MJ On Post Game: Kerr May Not Be Back Next Year

Everyone should seek the next bag. He’s still cheering on the sideline and I’m sure he’s engaged. But he can get another year and one more bag. I’m sure he’s 100% in now and then you reevaluate. Everyone is on a one year system now. No hate.

Wouldn't be surprised if Chandler leaves. Recently engaged and it's my understanding his fiancé still lives in Utah. With BYU throwing money at their NIL fund I would not be shocked if he goes back home at some point.

Didn't think about that BYU NIL. I could see that. He's probably not high on the Kentucky priority list.

He mentioned it on the show the other day too. Thought is they will target a PG in the portal and along with Johnson, that leaves Kerr as the odd man out and he might be looking for an opportunity where he is the starter.

Why does he think this? Did he mention any reasoning?

Has Kerr said anything?
Matt actually went even further and suggested that Kerr would end up at St. Johns next season playing for Pitino if he redshirted instead of trying to come back for the Tournaments.

Pope's not going to go into next season starting Lewis or Kriisa at point guard, so it only makes sense that KK goes elsewhere.

We'll get a legit starting point guard to replace Butler. Lewis replaces Kriisa.
Idk how many times people need to have somebody say this, but you are spot on. Krisa as a 7th-8th man energy guy= fine, as a starter= hell no. Kentucky needs a. Javon small, Donavon dent, a stud type PG

Thoughts?

That’s just how things are going to be as long as the transfer rules remain as wide open as they currently are. You hope to keep a few core guys together from year to year, but you can’t assume anyone is a multi-year player anymore even if they have eligibility left.

As for Kerr in particular, I have nothing against him and will wish him well if he leaves, but I’m not sure he’d be a cornerstone player for us anyway. Should be a survivable loss as far as our roster construction.
