Mizzou has the best D-Line coach in America and Pinkel is probably the best coach in the SEC. Their coaching mastery on Defense vs a slow-thinking QB like Towles spells disaster.

Coach Dawson and Towles better have an effective gameplan this week or Mizzou will absolutely decimate our O-Line and QB. They are way better coached when you look at this matchup.

Once again, our Defense will have to play lights-out like they did vs Florida to give us a chance in the game because I don't see Towles and Dawson outcoaching/outthinking Mizzou's Defensive schemes. I've seen this story before and it ain't pretty.

I really believe Pinkel loves to be underestimated every single year by opposing fans.

I don't think it takes a genius to predict that we need to play better offensively if we want to win.

I honestly think our game plan will be a lot of run plays. I think it will be run on first down, run on second down, and hope you are in a manageable running third down. I just don't see the coaches gaining confidence in PT when they have yet to show it.

Execute better. Our young receivers have to understand the importance of complete focus on every play. They have the talent but they're inconsistent. You can't drop passes when they hit you in the hands or in the numbers. Baker dropped that crucial touchdown but badet dropped a crucial pass late in the game too. We have to catch the ball better and get the ball out quicker. This offense an do good things. We saw that in the first half of the first two games. Now they need to do it on every drive. We can't shoot ourselves in the foot with holding calls and dropped passes and expect to win games.

Mizzou will pressure with their front four and play match up zone with the back 7. Towles will have to be accurate and find the windows...just like last year we'll see if he can do it. The only difference is UK may be able to move the ball on the ground with Boom better than last year.

If Towles struggles to throw vs. Mizzou...I'd have to get fully on board for Barker to get the ball the 2nd half of year. Towles has really struggled last half of year prior and so far this year hasn't been ideal. He needs to play strong Saturday

Lol , let's not act like the receivers were the main problem Saturday. They dropped a couple of passes , one was a touchdown. Passes are dropped every game , even on Sunday's . The Oline and quarterback are the HUGE problem. And Dawson CANNOT leave our tackles out on an island all game long.

Dawson can do what he wants. He is the offensive coach and knows more about the game than you or I will ever know. And yes the line and Towles have to play a lot better. Everyone has to play better. Receivers have to catch balls that are there to be caught. It's a team effort.

You have no idea what I know about football and I can tell what you know so please don't act like we're similar. Even someone like you could surely see there was no way our tackles could block 6'6 235 lb speed rushers . We should have moved a tight end up to at least chip the D end before running his pattern. We could have called more screens and run more misdirection. Their whole line had their ears pinned back and were over pursuing on every play. You CANNOT allow SEC defenses do that . It would also help if Towles would step up in the pocket when available, like a quarterback is supposed to . What do suggest? Just try harder ?

Yo Shukai - just a reminder - while our basketball fan base questions every little thing Cal does, we are supposed to blindly follow the Fball coaches and never make comments. "Trust Joker" - Ha!

Forgive them, for they know not what they are talking about

I can't tell you what I know but I can give you some back ground. I played and coached for one of the winningest coaches in kentucky high school football history. I've been on the sidelines and in the box for state championship games. Calling plays from the box is a lot harder than calling them from the recliner. And I can still admit that Dawson knows a whole lot more than I do. I can't say what I would have done because things look a lot different on tv than they do from the box. Dawson did go to a jumbo set at one point and it still didn't work.

So you're saying you would have done nothing. And we know how that worked out . Boy you're full of answers aren't you . I don't think you've ever set on a football field . Maybe as a cheerleader or in the band . Lol

What would you have done?

Missouri has yet to play a team with a pulse. Their best win was against Arkansas State. They barely beat UConn, one of the worst D1 programs. Against Arkansas State, the managed a whopping 282 yards of offense. 75 of that was Mauk running. Contain Mauk with some type of gimmick defense and the game is over. They won't be able to score. I'm really tired of the Missouri hype.

This might be the most positive post you have written about the UK team.

Mizzou is a really weird team right now. Their defense seems to be awesome but offense is as pathetic as ours has been. Now watch this be a barn burner in the 40s or something. I still believe we won't see a front 4 as athletic and fast as Florida's the rest of the year.

All I know is the Cats NEED this win more than Mizzou does so I hope we play like that. The problems on offense CAN be corrected despite the gloom and doom from fans.

I totally disagree. Their offense is nowhere near ours. We had about the same total offense Saturday but we played one of the best D's in football. They played Uconn. Even their best opponent isn't as good as our worst so far. Missouri is going to have a long season.

Must win in my eyes. Lose and we can still make it to a bowl, but this is the type of game we need to win to get over the hump. Struggling Mizzou team at home, ranked 25, SEC East game etc...need it and can do it.

That's what opposing fans of Mizzou say every year. You talk a lot of smack for a UK fan who has lost to Mizzou for 3 straight years. As of now, they OWN us. They have always proved people like you wrong. You're the reason so many people hate UK fans. Talking smack when you have never backed it up.

You're right, we are facing another talented D line and if Swindle and George, from their tackle positions, can't control the outside rush it will be another LONG day.

I know it was a full 10 days ago, but UK put together their best offensive half of football since Cobb was around at SC two Saturdays ago, both running and passing. The group, Towles and Dawson included, do know how to move the ball and put up points. Count me one of the ones who think it can happen again without some sort of miracle.

You must be blind and not a UK fan.
