Mitchell Robinson expected to pick from KU and New Orleans

The kid will never be eligible next year and will likely declare for the NBA in the spring. He should just go play in China or Australia for a year and make some money instead of practicing with a team he will never play for.

I love how RJ Barrett just eliminated Kansas from consideration and is basically down to UK and dook, while Kansas is locked in a recruiting battle with New Orleans, haha. If I were Self I'd pull the offer before he has a chance to pick NO over KU.
[laughing]

I mean he can either go to a program no one respects, in a town full of crime, temptation and mischief, where young athletes are held to no standard, given free reign to terrorize young women, be totally mismanaged by a coach who has no experience handling one and done big men properly, and play zero factor in who wins the NCAA tournament,

or he can go to New Orleans.

I don't hate Bill Self like some on here seem to, but I gotta say, the guy has absolutely zero standards as to the quality of kid he takes.

If it's New Orleans, Goodman will have the tweets ready.

"Robin$on has picked New Orlean$ over Kansas and Saint Self. $ometime$ you just gotta wonder what'$ going on" and so on.

What is the latest on his eligibilty? The sticking point from I've read is whether he received financial aid for summer classes. If so, I don't see how he could be able to play this year.

The practices could be seen as not official, correct?

This seems like a silly recruiting battle. When you think of a recruiting battle, you want to believe the other team has a chance to actually sign the kid. Who would pick New Orleans over Ku? Talk all the ish you want about Bill Self, but no legit player is turning down Self's offer and going to New Orleans instead. If that school had Davis playing in their post, it might be a little more understanding.

The weekend before classes begin, Bill Self doesn't think KU will add another player to the roster (like Mitchell Robinson) …

You wonder about the delays in a situation like this, but it's important to remember that the adults in this kids' life are looking to make the worst decision possible for him that might benefit them immediately in an insignificant way.

Things like that take time.

Trying to commit to a 3rd school this close to the start of class. LSU drops out, now he is "considering sitting out"? What is the story with him?

1. He isn't an amateur.
2. He will have to sit out a year because of transfer rules.
3. He is good enough to be drafted in 2018 without ever playing a college game.

It is kind of a shame that he won't get to play this year. He has #1 overall draft pick potential.
