Mods, please kill this thread. It was a mistake back in April.

He’s the exact opposite of the guy that just left here
This is exactly why I've been laughing at this board since last night. I understand he doesn't have the most stellar resume, but that's because he hasn't been coaching too long and has been at Utah State and BYU. You're not even allowed to bring caffeine on campus there, that obviously affects the type of players willing to play for them.

But he's literally exactly what people have been clamoring for for years. Program first guy, understands the importance Kentucky program, and will recruit guys who stick around. And yet he's being welcomed with threads like this.

BYU beat Kansas, San Diego State, Iowa State and Baylor this season with a team picked to finish last in their conference. Also, they damn near beat Houston. Lmao dude can coach.

You do realize we are ranked right? With 7 high quality wins. Smh. The guy can't help 3 of his 8 man rotation going down
That asshole is talking to himself. He forgot to log out of his other account…😂 @Terrapin_Station

Don’t kill me and I know beating a dead horse , but Mitch should have waited on Billy D before even thinking about hiring Pope. Just my opinion, Pope would have still been there if things didn’t go well with Billy D.
Mitch likes to rush things and if we aren't careful he will give Pope an extension just because that what he does!

OP, maybe I missed it, but this is the first time I’ve seen an unhinged post from you in a long, long time. Posting a phone number after a loss on the road to a ranked team is unhinged IMO. You’re better than this.

Look at the date of the post. It was made the night the news broke.

Most of us were unhinged when Pope was hired. I repented by mid-summer and have been willing to give him a chance since.

I'm giving the guy 4 years to turn the program around and get us back to at least the Sweet Sixteen.

Unhinged and yet suprised that coaches are turning you down.

You called someone at a restaurant? Who has a wife who is private, Christian, and introverted?

And now you’re calling your AD?

Maybe your AD knew there weren’t great candidates who wanted the job this year and was biding time strategically to get a better hire?

You all need therapy and some of you should be institutionalized.

This thread is the example of why you’re where you’re at and yet some of you don’t have a hint of self actualization and Continue on because “you’re passionate and that’s what makes you Kentucky”

Seek help
Brainfart should have only given Pope a 3 yr contract insted of 5

Just curious to what you think Donovan's record would be right now.
Billy was never a more with less coach.
When he won big, he was stacked with talent.

He won back-to-back titles with Lee Humphrey and Taurean Green as his starting backcourt. That at least should count for something. Neither of those even got served a cup of coffee in the NBA. Donovan had a stacked frontline, but still. Green and Humphrey leading you to back-to-back titles? That's impressive.

My bad. I visited RR as least I could during the coaching search. Sucks that the post with the office number hasn’t been voluntarily taken down by now much less ever put up, but that’s life.

My bad on missing the date on your original post.

Lee could shoot the ball and the other 4 got him good looks.
Green was a great college PG.
Epps on steroids.
He outplayed Rondo head to head every time they met.

And when Billy D said no (not if, when) then what would we have done? Yes, maybe Pope would have still been there, but none of the players still would have been in the portal. The best case scenario is we would have then been in the same exact position as we are now coach wise with an absolutely horrible roster.

Yeah I agree. At some point you just have to move on and get a coach in here.

It wasn't like the big names out there that we did reach out to were knocking down the door to accept this position.

You can’t chalk this up to a single night. Look at how many times you bumped it 😂
