I don't think this is just a case of Mitch saying the politically correct thing. I think Mitch means and believes e every word he said. To me this means there is 0% chance that Sumrall will be the next head coach at UK. We are being told that NIL is good to go now. What ever the UK NIL situation is, it won't be as good as most of the teams that UK has to face will have.
Mitch just has a big bucket of "hope" that he's become too friendly with, and cannot accept the reality that Stoops can only take the program so far....

Whatever the case, we’ve been through a couple of off seasons after disappointing seasons where there is a concerted effort to redefine for the next season so that fans re-up. Not sure it can work this time. Seen the movie too many times and too many guys have taken the fall with no change.
With the new roster limits, rosters are going to be flipping all over the place. We won’t be alone. Just gonna be interesting to see who comes out on top and if we will be serious players in the free agency market or just pretenders.

Stoops and his staff have recruited good players at a higher level than prior coaches. But it's still bottom half of the SEC. You make up for that with better execution, discipline and scheme. Which Stoops has shown not to be his strength.

Barnie is living in fantasy land. What is there to turn around? Stoops best seasons wouldn't have qualified UK for the 12 team playoff if it existed in 2018 or 2021. Stoops isn't sniffing another 9 and 3 record either regardless.
I'm ready for a change. Most of us all. Barney is sadly in charge though and we see how delusional he is. I mean the dude wasn't even firing cal until Arkansas saved UK.

You are being conned because anyone knows to do that requires 25 000 000 a year in NIL to just be competitive in the SEC. It's all Smoke and Mirror and to think or expect Kentucky fans to find that amount year after year makes SEC football more like a mob run operation.
The problem is not only bringing in untalented players, it’s the inability to coach them up in all facets of the game. Stoops is a lousy coach and leader.
Not sure Mitch saying that means much. Remember that Cal and Mitch meeting and video from it? Cal was gone like a week after it lol.
