I’m not sure there is a way for them to do these interviews and things to try to win the off season for ticket sales this time.

I don't think this is just a case of Mitch saying the politically correct thing. I think Mitch means and believes e every word he said. To me this means there is 0% chance that Sumrall will be the next head coach at UK. We are being told that NIL is good to go now. What ever the UK NIL situation is, it won't be as good as most of the teams that UK has to face will have.

Whatever the case, we’ve been through a couple of off seasons after disappointing seasons where there is a concerted effort to redefine for the next season so that fans re-up. Not sure it can work this time. Seen the movie too many times and too many guys have taken the fall with no change.

Well when the top 4 players you brought in with NIL money were all massive disappointments , it’s hard to blame much on lack of NIL funding.

We could get a toilet bowl if we beat UL. The one that will take a 5-7 team. Stoops should have left after last season. I’m sure he could have made a lateral move now he’s fat and giggly bc of Barney so why go anywhere?

We have had our differences Jeff but you posting a schitts creek meme has made us best friends.

Barnie is living in fantasy land. What is there to turn around? Stoops best seasons wouldn't have qualified UK for the 12 team playoff if it existed in 2018 or 2021. Stoops isn't sniffing another 9 and 3 record either regardless.

I'm ready for a change. Most of us all. Barney is sadly in charge though and we see how delusional he is. I mean the dude wasn't even firing cal until Arkansas saved UK.

You are being conned because anyone knows to do that requires 25 000 000 a year in NIL to just be competitive in the SEC. It's all Smoke and Mirror and to think or expect Kentucky fans to find that amount year after year makes SEC football more like a mob run operation.

If Boley leads us to a win over ul I’d go watch UK in a bowl.

I like bowl games. Went last year to Jax and enjoyed it. Not a bowl snob. Only a couple really matter.

With the new roster limits, rosters are going to be flipping all over the place. We won’t be alone. Just gonna be interesting to see who comes out on top and if we will be serious players in the free agency market or just pretenders.
This and while I won’t dismiss that having NIL dollars matters some it really is a day and age of the advantage going to the most organized and best evaluators and coaches that can be flexible to work varying rosters constantly in flux. Unless you’re one of the top few schools that lands every kid with dollars and even that is no guarantee….it isn’t any different than what it’s historically been. There is plenty of room to make your way as a coach in this environment without having the top NIL profiles. This is a time for the most innovative coaches. And I’m not sure that fits stoops much at all. He’s a ‘responsive’ type coach more than an innovative type. Which stays a step behind everything.

Exactly, ... we can be both appreciative for what Stoops has done, but at the same time expect more and move beyond him -- it may not be pretty at first (See UT's and FLs, South Carolina, LSU, ALA, Ole Miss, etc. etc. past struggles...), but those programs always had high expectations for success, and kept moving on when they didn't get it, -- in other words, they kept generating realistic hope for the fan base to get behind.

We know what we're going to continue to get, and what we have now is hoping for a 6-6 season -- seems the bar is pretty low.

Go CATS!

What is he supposed to say? Nah we gonna suck no matter what but I can't afford to fix my screw up. Can't believe anything he says. Pretty sure he was camp Cal right up until the point he served him papers to walk.

Any quick fix is going to continue our backwards slide. The fix isnt quick. Its a return to focus on culture and avoid buying players who don't want to be here.

Through recruiting, this is a 2-3 year project at least. The other option is to get guys from smaller schools who want to move up. But we can't just buy players from other teams.

Add in our murderous schedule, and it could be 3-5 years or....no turn around at all.

I don't diagree with you on the con job. But, I believe Mitch has no intentions of starting the 25 season without Stoops. Mitch probably feels that Stoops has been the best football coach he has had and therfore has earned the right to continue, even if it costs UK the opertunity to hire Sumrall. To me, Stoops did some good things, but I am not that impressed with the 8 staight bowl seasons. Basically, he just had to win 2 SEC games a year to make that happen. He has had two good seasons in my mind. It is time to move on from Stoops, but that is not going to happen

I agree on your statement. I went to Jacksonville and I also went to Tampa and watched the Gasprilla Bowl game between Ga. Tech and UCF. It was also a fun game and place to watch a game. I wish we could get offered that bowl with a 5-7 record. That would be a fun place to go to.

Go Big Blue!

If they hit On Cutter I could see it rung around after next season. The reality is regardless of who the coach is it’s going to take a year or 2 to get back in track. It’s just hard fix the Oline issues in one year.

In 2009 Iowa was 11-2. In 2015 Iowa was 12-2. In the five years in between Iowa was 34-30. So it’s possible for a coach who has done it before to do it again after a down period. But Stoops has to get this offense fixed.

Mitch is tied at the hip with Coach Stoops now because of that horrendous buyout clause he agreed to!!!!

That’s why we are all going to hear this same spin for the next 4 years or until Stoops either ACTUALLY turns it around or gets tired of all of the negativity. NIL has NOT been why our program has slipped. It’s how HORRIBLE Coach Stoops and our ENTIRE staff has been at evaluating the transfers they have brought in over the past few seasons. Coen brought Levis and Wandale to UK, and Coach Stoops thought that ALL of the transfers would be as motivated as those 2 were, but they haven’t been. Outside of Dumas-Johnson, who has really overperformed these last 3 seasons???

We are stuck with Stoops, I just hope he has learned a lesson with transfers and will do a better job of evaluating players he pays to bring here!!!

This is a great point

1. Brock
2. Dumas Johnson
3. Maclin
4. Mincey

So really on Dumas Johnson worked out. So why are they trying to sell this bag of BS as a way to work in the future. It’s clear as day Uk has major coaching issues
