Missouri

They played tight and unprepared. Such a shame after a really good season.
They were trash away from home … the way SEC games are officiated has created a false narrative— conference was not that strong , but teams get “ huge “ wins at home because they get a phony inflated home whistle . They played out of their minds at times , but their front court was weak

I wish we got that home whistle

They also had a weird line up from what they played in SeC. Drake was a really bad match up for them as far as style of playing and how smart they played. Still inexcusable.

Worst take I've ever seen. Conference not that strong? What about the out of conference records? Are you high?

Gotta give credit to Drake. The Missouri Valley is a really good mid major conference. Veteran players that are disciplined and play to their system strengths and are led by a very good coach that a program like Indiana, Iowa or Ohio State should look to hire (if they were smart).

That became clear when Georgia was getting handled by Gonzaga. They are so used to playing football it was hard to adjust within a one game period.

I hope that us not falling into the cheap and dirty play will help us in actual basketball games.

Dennis Gates looks like a deer in headlights in these big games. Drake imposed their will.

SEC officials have for years made a difference for the home teams. Good teams can go against bad teams and be in a dog fight most nights. They get caught up in the cheers and the boos.

They were extremely undisciplined in the final five minutes. Cut it to one and it felt like they thought emotion could carry them the rest of the way. Horrible shot selection, terrible ball security. Got beat on defense on all most every play as well.
This. It was crazy how many lapses they had when they cut it to 1. Drake was able to compose themselves and finish them but Missouri didn't help themselves.

Drake is one of those teams we seldom talk about. 31 wins is....amazing. I don't care what conference you're in.
Texas was a weird team...that was a loss Kentucky shouldn't have had.
Gonzaga was underseeded. Georgia acted like they had deer in headlights syndrome.

For today I wouldn't be surprised to see Oklahoma and Vandy bow out. But it's round one day two...so who knows?

There is a misconception that Dennis Gates is a good coach. He had a respectable season, but he’s the same coach that had a horrible season last year. Lamont Paris had an unlikely good season last year, but showed his true coaching acumen this year.

Drake is very good. They have a really good coach and Stirtz is great. Good complimentary pieces around him. They would beat a lot of the teams in this tournament. I am glad they are not the 11 seed in our region.

I thought about this in January when I watched them play. I was hoping we didn't fall on a seed line that would match us up. They are a solid team. They lead the nation in shots under 5 seconds on the shot clock but it seems like an efficient offense.

Hey dumbass , go read more takes if this is the worst ever . I was talking specifically about “ big wins “ by weaker teams beating good teams at home and I’ve stated the top of the SEC is very strong . Robert Morris a 15 seed just had 2 chances to cut a 2nd half lead to 5 against 2 seed BAMA .. not exactly a show of strength . Miss st getting handled . Not good for the home team ( meaning SEC )
