Leach is having his Monday press conference now. I'll share some notes from it as we go along.
* Leach is expecting RB Kylin Hill and backup QB Will Rogers to be available this week against Kentucky.
* The unusual start to the season should affect consistency for everyone in college football, Leach said. "Everyone's in that same boat."
* On Kentucky: Tough, gritty team. It will be a contrast of styles. They want to run the ball and use the clock. We want to throw it. They're good on defense, even though they gave up points vs. Ole Miss. A lot of them were shots/explosive plays. They played better down by down than the stats and final score suggest.
* A lot of friends still in Kentucky and Lexington. Great setting for games. He's looking forward to coming back, although there's work to be done and not enough time to walk down memory lane.
* On facing teams that will be dropping eight guys into zones... Leach expects to see more of it. "It's all on film."
* Asked about the origins of the "Air Raid" offense, Leach said it goes back to his time with Mumme at Iowa Wesleyan where some guy brought an air raid siren to the games. That was back in the time when everyone was naming stuff, so Leach said he was the genius who decided "Air Raid." LOL
* MSU has been pretty solid against the run so far. Leach says they've been haunted by some explosive plays similar to the way UK has.
* Bulldogs are a little salty right now, Leach said. Feels like they may have had a letdown after the excitement of beating the defending champs. You fear that as a coach, he said, but he still didn't do a good enough job of getting that message across. Feels like his guys will be more dialed in this week.
* On whether he keeps in touch with Hal Mumme, Leach said they do. They get together in Key West from time to time. They touch base quite often, love talking football.
