I am not 100% on this, but I think grad transfer fall under a different rule. Of course I don't know if this kid is a grad transfer
He'll be able to play this season with 1 year left. He'll mainly be used for special teams unless an injury happens again like with Tisdale
You're both correct, SEC transfers have to sit a year but grad transfers have immediate eligibility. Apparently he's been here awhile as he's listed on the UK team roster (senior). Must have just slipped by everyone.

Has anyone else noted the number and quality of defensive players we have had transfer from the Mississippi Schools?
Maybe the fact that neither Mike Leach nor Lane Kiffin give a rat’s ass for defense is part of the reason.
Lest anyone miss my primary point, I think neither Mike Leach nor Lane Kiffin Give AF for the defensive side of the ball.
Having been frequently accused of “mincing my words,” let me just say that Mike Leach and Lane Kiffin, are collectively, the least defensively oriented coaches between Ciudad Juarez, in Northern Mexico, and wherever is the farthest point North that American or Canadian style Football is played in either Canada or Alaska!
Collectively, they are to defensive football, as James Franklin is to “Class.”
And I don’t much like James Franklin!!

I'm not sure if he was injured or why he didn't play in 2021 but did read he started 8 games for Miss St recording 57 tackles on the season in 2020 so he may be used more than just special teams.
