Miles Bridges Official Visit to MSU (Alumni Weekend, MSU-Oregon FB Game)

Bridges will be playing with a terrific point guard in Cassius Winston, a top 15 , 2 guard in Langford, and
a top 40 perimeter who is climbing in Nick Ward.

We dont need Magic. Add Bridges, a close friend of Winston it's a lock.

Sorry guys you cant get everyone

Hmm, he could be playing with two top 10 players in Monk and Fox and a top 25 player in Killeya-Jones.

When did Winston commit to MSU?

Be careful of counting chickens before they hatch.

Sounds pretty cool and all but he's playing basketball right? Not sure there is a better college basketball atmosphere than BBM. Not to mention all the former Cats that will probably show up as usual to complement the insane amount of talent from the 16 class.

Look, our guys graduate for the most part and yours dont. If the college experience is important we'll get ours.
Frankly, 1 and done is fine as a feeder to the NBA...if college is not relevant.

WInston is a done deal, just not public..that's why Beilein gave up and took Simpson.

All I know is Ward ,WInston, Langford and the man who just gave MSU 3.1 million will be working Bridges over.
Of course, Magic, Steve Smith,Gary Harris ,JR and a host of others will do the same.

If he doesnt commit to us this weekend, on one of the most exciting football weekends in decades, then you still have a shot. I'd say it's 50/50 he is open after this weekend

In that case, I guess we can just wait until he decommits to sign him up. MSU doesn't do well recruiting against UK (James Young, Tyler Ulis, etc.). I like our chances. Not to mention how many games Huntington Prep plays in Kentucky this year, it's a long way from over.

I hate to tell you this, but we have a GRAD student who will be starting named Poythress. Our players always do well academically and we graduate players that stay long enough to graduate. It's just that most of our players opt to become millionaires instead of staying in school. Who stays in school when you can make millions? Would you stay in school in that situation? Doubtful.

That's a weak argument. Try again.

Implying your players wouldn't leave after one year if they were actually talented enough to be one and dones.

Sounds like sparty fans are going to be majorly let down on Bridges..

Look, it wouldn't shock me if they did indeed land Bridges, but I'm willing to bet as confident as this guy is, he pulls a big disappearing act if Bridges ends up at UK in the end. Aside from maybe one post with the old tried and true "We had him until Cal/UK/Wes paid him" retort.

The lame Big 10 cliche. That's why I hate all of them- self-righteous, hypocritical douchebags. Apparently, the Midwest is full of them.

And Sparty Fan, your boy Izzo gives up more leads in recruiting than any coach I've ever seen. You need to get the boy a bullpen.

"Listen son, you remind of that guy over there, Draymond Green. In just four years I developed him into a second round pick. Are you OK with setting ball screens late in the shot clock after we pass it around bit? Come home to Sparty"

Sounds like recruiting violations to me, either way you better hope he commits this weekend, because you won't get him any other way.

Msu fans make it seem draymond was oad and a lottery...[roll]

When in reality he is their only pro player with any recognition in forever. They better thank god he went to the warriors too! [roll]

Isn't Green the kid who was a UK fan and had committed to UK and Tubby until Tubby moved on? If so, I suspect he would understand why Miles would want to come here. He even said in his Twitter he'd support Miles wherever he goes.

The fact is Green just isn't going to put a lot of pressure on him to go to MSU. He understands Miles has to make the best decision for his future, and he's not going to put some guilt trip on him about it.

If Bridges doesn't commit there this weekend and visits UK for BBM, he'll be a Wildcat.

Winston and Bridges initially spoke a lot about playing together. But as the AAU season progressed "want to" turned into it would be nice. Heck, they didn't even finish the AAU season together, with Bridges leaving The Family to play in Vegas with the Mac Irvin Fire while Winston played in Indiana in front of Izzo over the weekend.

What you lesser programs haven't learned quite yet when it comes to recruiting. Just insert the word "Calipari" for "the heat"...

You referenced Magic and Steve Smith as if any modern recruit cares about what they say.

You might as well try to get Christian Slater and Chevy Chase to team up in a new film and expect $100 million in revenue.

Bridges is a Cat!

Your coach is a midget.

I hope you lose every game this year.

Would Bridges rather go to college 4 years and earn a degree or 1 year then become a millionaire Basketball player! Answer 1 year then become a millionaire in the NBA!

You think Bridges really wants to stay in East Lansing for 4 years?

If Magic were a high schooler today he would run to Cal.

We still have a shot? Thanks Sparty

It's easy to see the butthurt will be epic from Sparty fans when this kid becomes a Wildcat. If you really think Izzo is selling this kid on a 4 year Msu degree, You're a even bigger fool than I thought. This kid is thinking of being OneNDone. Most elite kids are. It's not a bad thing. They are cashing in. When you make millions playing ball, you don't stay in school for 4 years. No reason to. If it doesn't work out, you can still go back to school. The only difference being going to school broke or going to school loaded. I like Izzo, but this kid is our elite sf/PF we have been missing out on lately and it ain't going to happen with this one.

Love how the Spartan fan basically says, "if he cares about college he will end up at MSU, if he goes to UK he's a mercenary they never wanted."

AKA "Louisville fan syndrome."

Poythress? How many like him? Come on, it's a minor league for the NBA and it works so why give me the exception to the rule? Hey, I am a Yankee fan with 28 titles, many because we're the richest, so I am not complaining.

Just be honest, top players dont come to KY for any part of the academics .

Now, I dont want 5 all stars every year. It's more fun watching development, chemistry and not having a revolving door. Our 7 F4s and 1 title are enough.

BUT, I would like to see Izzo get another title, so given WInston commit next Friday,Langford onboard already, Bridges wouldcomplete the lineup. BTW Josh Jackson is on campus this weekend so who knows?

You're rationalizing. The players that have played for Cal have been nothing but stellar students. Here's why you're wrong and making excuses for your team's lack of getting elite recruits.

Why do you think you that every 18 year old should should conform to the college route? There are some who may have other aspirations. Some aren't ready, some want to focus on their gifted skill set in a sport, some may have other aspirations than college. Some may have to help out with their families. Some may want to do some technical jobs. Some may never be interested in college. I was 35 when I graduated and 37 when I got my master's. Big effin deal if a kid goes to college for one or two years and come back later to get their degree. Just because it doesn't fit your cognitively distorted perception of what an 18 yr old should do means nothing on the grand scheme of things. But go on, keep telling us how 18 year olds should live their lives.

Yes, because if by some miracle MSU managed to land Josh Jackson, I'm sure he's "there for the academics". Definitely a four year player there.

Just...my God, you managed to completely contradict yourself in less than a paragraph.

There's certainly nothing wrong with 4-year players who are honestly looking for an education. Nobody here is trying to say that. But you just have to accept the fact that every kid who ever dribbles a basketball for a D-1 program's ultimate dream is to play in the NBA, no matter how ludicrous those aspirations may seem in most cases. There have been many examples of talent who came into college under the radar, no doubt with the intent of getting a free ride and 4-year education, only to blossom into lottery-first round NBA draft picks as underclassmen.

My point being, no matter what college kids like Miles Bridges end up attending, if the opportunity arises for them to leave college after one year and make a living playing basketball at the highest level, you can rest assured that they are gone 95% of the time. It's 2015, if a college basketball player stays all four years, it's more than likely simply because he didn't have the talents to leave beforehand.

In short, there's nothing wrong with wanting your players to stay all four years, we all do. But please, do us all a favor and drop the whole smug, Holier-than-thou attitude about how "MSU is better than UK" because we're not a NBA Developmental program, in a vain attempt to justify why your team doesn't land the top prospects as often as programs like UK, Duke, Kansas, etc. Because if Michigan State were signing #1 or even top 5 recruiting classes on a regular basis, you know you'd be on your board right now bragging about it.

But of course, I suppose I could of saved myself the time of pounding out this little diatribe and merely left you with the following "fixed" quote.

"I don't want 5 all star players every year, because I know we can't land that many every year." -CousinofSparty

Izzo is too old school, old stubborn mule about his system and oad. He is the last of a dying breed, final fours or not he rarely gets studs, more Matt Costellos than Bridges. And he has no one to blame but himself

THAT is why Kentucky Is the GOAT. you have a loser mentality. One title is enough???

Hahahhahaahha

Joke

So if Bridges picks MSU, it will be principally for academics?

How deluded is this State fan?

Got a paypal account Sparty fan? I do. I'll lay some money on the table, will you? doubt it.
