Some guy said a Iowa booster was saying freeman to Kentucky might happen
with our style of play and Popes personality I think we’re going to be really attractive to top portal players, which in this day and age are probably the most important players you can recruit.

I don't like the fit with this guy. He's not a shooter and he's got a poor assist rate. As a four, he'd be more traditional. You'd have to get a stretch five to make this work imo.

Yes! This is what I'm saying, Lendeborg is a dude. Does everything you'd want from a stretch four, is better defensively and is a great athlete. Sign me up!

He'd probably be better serviced as a five to be honest. His assist rate is garbage though. In Pope's offense, you need a big who can pass. The shooting is optional, but the passing isn't. It's why I keep saying the fit doesn't work. Is he better than Garrison though? Wouldn't doubt it! BG has been a disappointment in my eyes, especially his basketball IQ.

There absolutely could be. Especially from a fit perspective.
Not pounding the table for this kid necessarily at all.
But nearly 17 PPG at C as a sophomore in a major conference league is definitely worthy of consideration. I don’t think there will be another portal center that will have that proven of a scoring prowess in a major conference that enters. He absolutely could not be a fit and Iowa folks think he quit on them so he definitely could not be from that standpoint as well.
Not arguing this guy can play here or not. But we're not going to find a center looking at stats. Very few ask their center to do what we need. I think of all the centers Cal had that could thrive here now. Towns, Sarr, Mitchell, Skal, Bradshaw, Z. Stats might say otherwise, but they would kill it.
We already have the west coast boys who seem to stay injured. We definitely don’t need another injury prone guy.
Fran McCaffery said he was at risk of permanent injury if he continued playing this season. He had surgery on the finger last month.

Eh. Fans, especially online, don't know shyt. I wouldn't expect anything but misery and griping from fans of Iowa on a message board. He had surgery on a finger on his right hand. Seems legit to me. If not, Pope will know after talking to him. More so than bitter chuckleheads in their echo chamber.
I don’t know how well he fits our style. He can definitely play but he’s not the big men we need I don’t think skill wise.

Pope used traore at center and he didn't have the skill game. He allowed him to play to his strength and was effective. I believe he scored more then the starting center! But either way he used him completely differently. There is room and a need for a big physical inside scorer in this offense.
Having said that, Freeman looks to me he has the ability to be a solid 3 point threat once Pope works on his shot! I'm ok with 1 like this, but after this you have to become more athletic or you will pay for it in the league play!
If uk has enough money. I am not convinced uk can compete in that area. I think pope will have to monitor his spending like the average fan does. We may want a Cadillac, but have to settle for a Mercury. Pope may want the number 1 high school or portal player, but have to settle for number 10.
