Michigan State and Kansas

Well I was debating about the 2012 team. Maybe I misunderstood.

I think it's largely a myth. College basketball is relatively easy to pick a champion. Dating back ten years, I'd say I "knew" who the champion was going to be at least half the time. 05 and 09 UNC were as close to guarantees as it gets (08 Florida was a given). 2012 was seen by thousands as a fairly sure bet. Duke was seen as one of the favorites in 2015.

Nothing's for sure, but I don't believe college basketball is some unpredictable sport. IMO Cals teams not finishing some years have played into this belief, and I credit that more to youth.

Florida didn't win 2008, so that's not a given.

The last time KU played in Rupp, Kentucky lost. Do you see how by saying these things, you are actually poking fun at Kentucky?

It's going to be a good game on January 30th and a good win for my Jayhawks. :)

It's embarrassing that we let you come to Rupp and beat us...10 years ago. We had a string of embarrassments versus top teams, and eventually made some changes for the better.

You guys should be favored at afh and you never lose there. Your crowd will be at another level.

Lose that game and you should probably quit. I will literally laugh out loud if you let us come in and steal that one.

It's either going to blow up and create a lot of sloppy play and turnovers, or they're going to be an even bigger nightmare to face with an already very experienced team by comparison to the norm in college basketball today.

Truthfully, a little of both is what I expect. I hope more of the latter.

I love how you Kansas clowns are hyping the crap out of your January home game, where you know home court will be worth about 10 points.

You really are scarily like UL fans. Embarrassing lack of success against us but near total amnesia.

Really starting to hope we clip you in January just to disappear a few of you. The last set of kansans finally vanished after 72-40.

These KU fans really need to settle their tits. Big daddy UK is going to make Marcus Smart's backflip on the Jayhawk look like child's play.

I just turned over to watch the Mich st vs Boise st game, immediately after the Kentucky game ended. The contrast was stark If they are the #3 team, it must be a down season in college ball. Not impressed at all. Kentucky would roll the Spartans. Kansas and Kentucky however is going to be a hell of a game.

Michigan State looks really, really tough and Valentine is playing out of his mind.[/QUOTE]

Pretty good team but I tend to worry less about "one-man" teams. Slow down that one great player and we likely to win. JMO

Vandy and Texas A&M have the tools to be as good as anybody in March. It's crazy how much better they are than last year. Texas A&M lost today because Syracuse shot lights out from three but they are LOADED.

Boise State is Kenpom ranked #57. University of South Florida is Kenpom ranked #228. Completely different level of competition to be trying to make a comparison.

I am glad you have your priorities for the night, but you will have to settle with the crowd singing 'Rock Chalk Jayhawk' No storming
What's your guys winning streak at the Phog anyway? I can't remember the last time you guys lost at home.

They should have handily beaten Michigan State, but let them back in the game. They're a good team, but robotic in the same kind of way that 2012 UNC team was. Teams without swagger can win conference titles, but the whole thing?

Doubt it.

The team's that could potentially be a matchup issue for UK this year are anybody that can put out two quality bigs at the same time that are legit offensive threats and good rebounders. If they just have one then UK will be totally fine. So only Texas A&M (Davis, Jones, and Trocha) in the SEC and nationally Maryland (Stone, Carter) Purdue (Haas, Hammons, Swanigan) and North Carolina (Meeks, Johnson) fit the bill. Having two offensive post threats is a rare rare thing in todays college basketball. Unfortunately it looks like Purdue has a really good chance of being a top #4 seed this year and will likely be put with us in Louisville region.
