Anything can happen in college basketball, but every year, without fail, Louisville fans post all day on Twitter/Message Boards about how they are so confident of the fact that they're going to beat UK in basketball this season. That "There's no way a bunch of selfish, me-first ones and dones can beat us!" Only for Little Brothel to be 1-7 against Kentucky since Cal arrived. Then they slink back to their message board, drowning their sorrows in Crown Royal and Spray on tanner, attempting to write the result off because "A basketball game in December" didn't actually mean anything to them, "Corrupt Arena refs cost us the game!" and "Of course PayPal Cal won! He's got the best players money can buy!" (Directly contradicting their previous boasts about how you can't win with one and done players, btw) And perhaps my favorite Card rationalizations, "Oh, well, we don't want those type of selfish punks at UofL anyway! We want true 4-year kids that are #L1C4, baby!" (Probably because deep down, they know most of the 5-star recruits won't even sniff at Louisville to begin with.) And "At least we actually get to know our players here! We don't rent players for one year here!" (Damion Lee and Trey Lewis say "hello".) And of course, let's not forget the ol' tried and true, "Who cares about basketball? We beat you guys in football! Haha, basketball is all you rednecks have to fall back on! lol." even though UK/Cal is all they ever talk about, and you could bet that they would of tweeted/posted incessantly to every Kentucky fan that they could find within the span of the next year that "We beat y'all blueneck cheaters!" had Louisville actually won.
Listen Spartan fan: I know you're proud of the big win tonight vs the cards, but when you come here acting like it's a big deal, you will get laughed out of here quick. This UL team is a team that lacks talent. This is the least talented UL team in the Ville since Rick's earlier years at UL. I'm glad you guys won, but don't pat yourself on the back for beating a team that lacks real talent and a coach that probably lost his desire to win a few years ago.

Alright, UofL lost - you guys are right about that. Surely you can admit they aren't the terrible team that I've read about all summer and fall on this board? Surely you can admit that many posters here simply can't be objective about UofL basketball? One camp,a majority, refuses to give them any credit even when they are obviously good - how many times during the 2013 season did I read they were over-rated and about to be exposed? And another camp lives in fear of a loss to UofL, or of UofL succeeding at all - that crowd takes the slightest glimmer of hope from a UofL team and magnifies it into some unbeatable hydra. Point is, people can't look at them like they do virtually any other team - objectively.
This team is better than people expected. It's OK to say it. Now, two guys did all their scoring last night. If you have good perimeter defenders, and contain those two guys, Louisville is in a world of hurt, because there is no one to pick up the slack. And against this UofL team, like all Pitino teams, multiple ball handlers is a must - which is one reason why Cal routinely beats him. Michigan State doesn't have multiple ball handlers, they don't even have one competent point. So they aren't world beaters, they have obvious weaknesses. But this is a down year, and there probably aren't that many teams capable of exploiting those weaknesses. Ergo, they are going to have a better year than everyone here seems to think.
Upside to that: a voluntary post-season ban this year suddenly looks more painful than it has before.....
I thought they said two hands on a ball handler was an automatic foul??!?!?!?! I guess Lee and Lewis as 5th year seniors are exempt since they both got away with it like 20 times last night.
When they actually beat somebody get back with us,but beating up a bunch of cupcakes and losing to one of two high majors on their piss poor ooc schedule so far doesn't impress me in the least ,Mich St actually sucked and they couldn't beat them.
