Until further notice. Apparently his academics aren’t up to snuff. Never heard of a suspension for away games only

DETROIT NEWS:
"Sophomore guard Dug McDaniel announced on social media that he will be suspended for the next six road games, starting with Thursday's trip to Maryland. According to the program, the suspension is for academic reasons. Classes for Michigan's winter semester began Wednesday."

Dug? I guess the parents were on academic probation as well

So much for the B10 and Michigan being a pillar of academic excellence. ;) 😆

Okay, so he did poorly in his classes in the Fall (probably being a no show) but he can pull up his GPA by going to winter semester and still qualify to play bball. I guess that makes sense??

What is considered bad enough grades that only get you suspended for home games

My best guess is that he failed a class but can make it up in Winter semester. The school, to their credit, is requiring him to miss road games because the travel and schedule would 1) take time from his study and 2) cause him to miss classes. Plus, winter semester is most likely highly concentrated anyway.

To me, it all makes sense. I have a lot of past experience with academics. Currently, my daughter works in the academic dean's office at a university. She agreed with me that this could be the case.
