Miami - Notre Dame, every year!

Notre Dame is a joke. When Brian Kelly left for LSU, it showed a lot about who they are today. They should have gone to the BIG10 years ago. They thought it was smarter to stay out and it’s hurt their program in droves.
I agree...the new Notre Dame coach looks like our Joker Phillips all over again.
But the whole stay independent has worked out for Notre Dame...they get to keep all their money and not share with other schools, they still get to play Michigan, Michigan st, Purdue, USC, the goofy ACC part time schedule and the dumb armed forces teams and get to playoffs every so often (and get their doors blown off).
If I were BIg 10 commissioner...I'd tell all the Big 10 schools to never schedule Notre Dame until they join the conference fully.
I’m not going to say financially it hasn’t made them a bit richer, but even then, I think it’s hurt them long term. The perception of Notre Dame has nose dived from years ago. And it’s got a lot to do with not being in the BIG10 imo.
The reality is they have nose dived. The perception of the folks that make decisions on who gets in playoffs is they haven’t nose dived.
That’s true. But eventually that’s gonna wear off too. They’ve still got the name recognition, but past the boomer’s generation it’s going to be a lot harder for them.
Brian Kelley bolting seemingly out of the blue was probably a canary in the coal mine. The move was probably a canary in the coal mine for what’s coming down the pipe for the CFB landscape.
Everything is moving to big brands, big conferences, big NIL “collectives“, big media rights deals…ND has all the money n resources in the world and could really clean up with NIL but they don’t have the big conference brand platform.
It will be interesting to see how much longer they can go without the support of a P5 conference.

Why are the armed forced teams "dumb?" May care to retract that adjective. If you mean overmatched armed forces team that makes more sense. Nothing dumb about playing football and serving your country as well. Just IMO.
How’s all that NIL $ that booster is paying is helping the Canes now? Many people in here were wringing their hands about it, putting Miami over the top, sure hasn’t happened yet.
I think it's helped to weed out the prospects that are in it for the wrong reasons. I understand that some of these young men need the money to support their families, and god bless them for that. But what I think we might be seeing from these collectives, at places like Miami and aTm, are the same as when you pay a contractor before they start the job. A lot of these players might be losing their "motivation."
Why when the AllCheatersConference would allow them to play in every sport except fb and keep all their large TV market$$$ for themselves.

Putting ND and Miami in the same category is wrong. ND has been in multiple playoffs.
Not because they deserved to be.
Says anybody who has watched them play since the playoffs began. They've had crap schedules getting inflated records and media love, only to get mudhole stomped in the playoff.
So you think Alabama and Clemson wouldn’t have mud stomped the next team in line. I will never understand the ND hate on here. Very strange.
I absolutely think Ohio St in 2018 would have given Clemson a better game, and Texas A&M would have given Bama a better game in 2020 yes.

Just because a team doesn’t win doesn’t mean they didn’t earn the right to play the game. And hindsight is 20/20. Easy to say that now.
Nah. A lot of people were on the ESPN boards back the. saying they ND was over rated. I think a lot of folks saw that coming, Just not the “experts”. Just like those wonderful “experts” that said UK would get crushed by Florida.
The playoff semifinals are mostly joke blowouts anyways, whether notre Dame or whoever. There have been exceptions but most are easy wins for the better team.
In 2019, the year I assume you’re talking about, Notre Dame played Clemson closer than Alabama did.

And Macy is the exception not the rule. But as per usual, you know what was intended and find silly counters. Of course we don’t dislike people who played for us.
