Yep, thats him.

.

That entire program is a complete mess. Also saw on twitter that it was Memphis' decision.

Probably has more total suspensions than minutes played at Memphis. Kid really wanted to come here, and Cal seemed to never consider it. Easy to see why now.

I made a thread on this a few days back while it was actually going on.

Memphis is a mess. Pastner has a massive buyout and cannot get rid of him until after next season. If they are lucky they will see back to back NIT's.I so wish the Pastner apologist on this board were still around and would show themselves. Most people aren't man enough to admit they were wrong however.

USC is a mess. Alabama is a mess. St. John's is a mess. Memphis is not a mess. They are having a down year but Pastners run at Memphis has not been nearly as bad as people try to portray it. Some of you live in a very black and white world where you're either elite or you suck. Memphis and Pastner have not been elite, but they have been a solid program during Pastner's run.

Lol. You do know they are calling for his head in memphis right? He has lost all control of the team He lost to Tulane of all schools. He has lost to teams in past few years memphis hasn't lost to in a decade Next time a memphis game is on tv look at the stands....he has lost the fan base as well. He is starting to lose recruits too After the lawson brothers he isn't getting anymore big time talent. He has former and current players calling him out saying he sucks

Then fire him when the recruits actually stop coming and he starts bombing in the regular season on a regular basis. This season has been terrible so far but his body of work up to this point doesn't come close to warranting a firing.

Pastner has been a huge step down from Cal, but who wasn't going to be? And yeah, I think there are guys who who could have done better, but the facts are this- 130-44 prior to this season, in the NCAA Tourney 4 years in a row, has the Lawson brothers locked up.

I think the Memphis fan base is doomed to be disappointed. They think they should be elite, but they're not. They'll run Pastner out, and someone will come in and do worse.

Do,worse? Worse than one tourney win in six years

Wow ans WSUFAN has reemerged, lol.

Pasnter has lost control of his team and the fans of the program. Come to memphis my friend. Talk with people who eat, live, and sleep Memphis basketball. They hate him.

Trying to prove a point to you is pointless as you are not going to understand because you don't want to see it. But I will say this, you are in a vast minority of people who still think this guy is a HC. The only reason some talking heads still report kindly on his time in Memphis is due to the fact that he allows them more access to his program and himself than any Memphis head coach in history.

As far as the Lawson twins go if you believe the tea leaves out of memphis, the hire was not popular with josh pastner, and he didn't want to make it. There was little choice given. His recruiting is already tanking, and thats what memphis fans see. They care about losing to TULANE at home, sure. They care about trying to make an NIT this year, and next year, sure. BUT they really care about where their recruiting his headed. That was the only reason they were hanging on.

Some of you simply don't know what you are talking about when it comes to Memphis and thats apparent. I follow the program pretty closely, and he isn't going to last. As to whether or not they can do better will be seen, but Pastner is and has been in way over his head.

OH and I might add, WSU fan you might want to take a look at the attendance numbers for the Forum, because for the first time in a LONG time, Memphis isn't meeting their standard by a long shot.

Just wait until the numbers on season tickets next season. I know 3 different groups of season ticket holders(17), personally, that are canceling after this year. He's gone as soon as the buyout reduces substantially.

You don't seem to understand the fact that fans being whiny unrealistic babies does not necessarily equate to a program being in a bad spot or a coach doing a bad job. Explaining how much you and these fans hate Pastner just shows that these are subjective people who cannot engage in an objective discussion about this guy or the state of the program.

Tennesse fans whined so much about Cuonzo that he up and left with the support of his players. He took them to a sweet 16 so it's not like they were a mess. You don't have to be a mess or a bad coach for fans to whine. Again, we have examples of programs that are a mess. Bama, Minnesota, USC, St. John's... Do you not see a clear difference between those programs and Memphis over the last few years?

I admit I thought he was gonna be great at Memphis. I thought he pick up where Cal left off getting the OAD's and keeping the train going. There's just something about him though that makes the players not respect him and it's been goin on since his first year as their coach. That said, he'd still be a great assistant and I'd like having him as a recruiter under Calipari.

Both Andy Kennedy and Bruce Pearl would murder it at Memphis, by their standards anyway. Sweet 16, Elite 8 every year within just a couple of years.

Yes. You can miss the tournament entirely. Not win 25 games every year. Have losing records. Those type of things.

All of which was common for them before Cal hit his stride there in 06. We're talking about a program that, from 96 through 2005, had only played in 2 NCAA Tournaments in 10 years. And that includes 5 seasons in which Cal was their coach. We're also talking about a school that, from their FF appearance in 85 until 2005, had a whopping 2 seasons when they advanced past the second round of the NCAA's.

Pastner hasn't shown he can do squat other than recruit, but then, recruiting is the foundation of everything. People act like Memphis will continue to get players no matter what, so hey, get a guy in there who can actually coach, and they'll be right back to playing for FF's. History says that's not so easy.

Iverson was the one whom talked crap last year about their recruiting class be being the best in the nation, was butthurt about our class.

Watched the Lawsons last week vs Oak Hill, wasnt impressed, great high school players but not athletic enough IMO to be studs in college.

I watched the Hamilton vs Oak Hill game and the Lawson's dominated that game which ked to a blowout of #3 Oak Hill that was about to ascend to #1. Not making any claims about college success but they dominated a team full of D1 players. They are legit.

The Lawsons could be better than what i think, i know there skilled but they are below the rim guys and not elite athletes.
