Outside of Briscoe, this isn't a "tough" team. And he has major limitations offensively that really hurt the team given the amount of time he gets (I know Cal loves him because of his "toughness"). These guys don't really play with a physical presence, they don't really play with an attitude. And I'm not sure you can teach this over the next 3 months. It may just be who they are and how they're built.
So maybe Cal adjusts and gives up on this team taking on his personality. Maybe you play havoc basketball, try to force the tempo, not worry about giving up some easy baskets, and hope that in this type of atmosphere you leverage your strengths and minimize your weaknesses. Have Poy and Lee fly around the court in a freestyle type of game, throw "toughness" to the wind and see what happens.
