Maybe Big Z Comes Back?

Hes skilled but very low bball IQ. He is out of position he's a/l stretch 4 playing post center as Cal loves to hammer round pegs in square holes. He would be an asset but not a needle mover
I think he has very good court awareness, great ball handling for a big. Some of his passes most players couldn't do or even think of doing. But I don't think he has a high motor or mean streak in him.

Near term results already seem to suggest the
Clean break approach was best (for UK)

I heard Cal even took the managers with him?

Assumed that was a joke when I heard it but who knows
He did,, at least the big tall one 6'10 from Lexington with the weird white patch of hair..

Edit: He played at Lexington Lafayette..

I do try and imagine Big Z catching the ball at the top of the key like Amari does.
Can't help but think good things would happen from right there.
I could probably be wrong.
The thing about Z is he is to loose with the ball and he tries to make easy plays look hard or amazing. He likes to make things look harder then they really are and there isn't a lot of spacial awarenes/reading the defense to his game. He has a pretty shot which is what people see first but outside of that he's limited due to his lack of strength and those things I listed above.

I ain’t mad at Z. I feel like he just didn’t know any better than to follow the coach that recruited him. If he transfers and Pope wants him, then I’d welcome him. If he stays in Arky or goes elsewhere, so be it. I think he makes more sense in Pope’s offense than Cal’s, but that goes for a lot of players.

He would thrive in our offense. Don't give 2 shits what he looks like under Cal. The dude has never been able to properly scheme for a finesse big.
Totally agree. The kid is 7-2 & he can shoot from the perimeter, handle the ball well enough to lead fast breaks & is a slick passer. Guys like that don’t grow on trees. He’s a borderline unicorn, with his size & skill level.

And, Pope is the ideal coach for him at the college level, IMO. Not only bc he was a big man himself & his offense is tailor made for skilled bigs. But, I think he also needs a coach with Pope’s demeanor as opposed to the raving lunatic he’s stuck with, now. I think Z would absolutely flourish in Pope’s system.

But, regardless, I think Z is gonna be a major problem when everything finally clicks for him. Or, when the right coach can bring it out of him. He’s basically a lottery ticket that will be a MASSIVE payoff for somebody, eventually, IMO.

I don't like that he left but I would take him back over Garrison to be honest with you, z on offense in this system would be a first round pick, if we had his shooting at the top of the key we would almost unstoppable on offense, yes he's not good defensively but I don't feel like Garrison is either.

For everything he does offensively he gives up a significant amount on defense. While I’m not gonna root against his success, I think the way it worked out is best.

I think most of this board has reading comprehension issues. Nowhere did I say the hogs were looking good.
You have basketball comprehension skills. You plainly said he’s been significantly outplayed by Brazile and Aidoo. The numbers don’t back that up. Im sure you and Cal would also say the team has improved since his time was cut and the other guys increased. That can’t be backed up with anything either.
