Maybe an unpopular take - women announcers are difficult to listen to.

Just being honest, but so are the men, which is why I mute the sound on the TV and listen to Tom Leach.
I think what the op is saying is that if Jimmy Dykes ever transitions, he'll be the greatest female broadcaster ever.
I like the chick who called our bowl game in 2019.
My wife was listening to ESPN with me earlier and said women shouldn’t be on ESPN during sports.
Why is everything an "unpopular opinion/take"? It's so tired and overused, and 99% is completely untrue.
That said: There are few women that are good at color analyst, and some who are garbage. Same with the men.
However, I have some issue with women doing football or baseball games, given that they never play, and they all just state the obvious. It's like they read a teleprompter, and regurgitate what someone tells them to say. I was listening to some of the baseball playoff games, and there was a woman doing one of the games, and she said nothing that my eight year old nephew couldn't figure out; it was so DEI. Truthfully, I could not care less about the gender; I care about the quality, and women are fine in basketball, soccer, etc, because they have good insight at times. Not so much with football and baseball.

What a world we live in. It is like being back in the 80s again. Bad fashion, dumb people, and the music is atrocious.

No offense to you or Mr. Moore, but that is slop-hound fare when set in comparison to Grandma's everything-from-scratch chicken/dumplings.
Hate on me if you find this politically correct, but the problem isn’t disliking the female commentators you heard, it’s dismissing the entire class based on their sex. I find more than just a few sports announcers obnoxious or inane, but I don’t find a common characteristic and decide, for example, that I don’t like red haired announcers. Dislike any commentator you want, but people are individuals, take ‘em one at a time

There is absolutely nothing wrong with men, who watch a game played by men, that want to hear about it from other men. You don't have to feel bad or be labeled a misogynist because you prefer, at times, to interact with your own gender.
I personally don't really mind women being apart of it (most are hired for their looks, and I think that's kind of the irony of it), but it's still funny how they wormed their way into this profession and basically eliminated the male sideline reporter, sans for a few that remain. It was almost like overnight, the sports world said "this job is now going to be done by women". Whatever I guess.

I’m more of a do you know your stuff when it comes to announcers, etc, rather than male vs female

That being said…it’s also true that the prettiest seem to be hired as sideline reporters because they look good on tv, and let’s face and be brutally honest: most of these male coaches aren’t going to be rude to a woman

Ok, I will make it more clear. I have yet to hear a female commentator that I enjoy listening to or that doesn't grate on my nerves. There are also male commentators that I feel the same way about. But 100% of the commentators that I like or enjoy listening to are male.

Time for some real facts.
The only reason women are able to compete with men in any way is because of technology.
If we had to go back to Renaissance Faire levels of tech women would be back to cooking and cleaning and would be TOTALLY dependent on their husbands.
I dont think women should play basketball, coach basketball, call basketball games, ref basketball games or even go to basketball games period, Well... they can go to the game, but only if they are with a guy and then only so they can fetch beer and shtt like that, but they have to be fvcken quite.
