Good news is soon he will have a new coach to brown nose and get good in with.
Cal is intentionally destroying the program. And he's having fun imagining a roster of mostly freshman averaging doing figures. He wants his Fab Five before he gives us his Fab middle fingers on the way out.

How is telling the fans the truth considered burning chances? Is it not his job to get the scoop and share it? The sooner the general population learns what is going on at UK, the sooner Cal will be out.

You have a spare $42 million laying around to pay him off? Planning to have a spare $36 million next spring? What about 30 million in 2025? 24 million in 2026 perhaps? Or maybe 18 million in 2027? Cause those are his buyout amounts each year, and UK isn't going to/can't afford to pay that until it reaches the $12 million mark in 2028. So, unless you know a way to raise the buyout, Cal isn't leaving until he decides. And I sure as hell haven't seen any indication he has decided that.

He still gets his buyout with or without the boosters. So, other than ponying up the cash, I am not sure what you think the boosters are going to control about it. Other than not providing NIL money, which only hurts the program, not Cal. He still gets paid either way. And they aren't paying 30+ million dollars, and Cal has zero incentive to take less. He has all the leverage.

I will say watching Cal just completely implode through arrogance and insularity makes me respect what Stoops has done even more.. Stoops isn't perfect but he seems to learn from his mistakes and put aside his own pride to advance the program

I honestly don't keep up with the guy. I vote democrat (but admittedly was in love with the idea of Trump beating Hillary), but I'm sorry to say that I can't become attached to some guy who went to / graduated from Duke and is hiding out in plain site in front of UK fans. Can't the guy go do a Duke show or something? Over the years it's become clear to me that anytime you want to see which direction the flies go, you have to put your hands in bullshit But I do appreciate him putting this Cal Failure out in front!

As sad as it is to admit, this is how it is currently for UK Basketball. Mitch Barnhart created every bit of this with that HORRIBLE contract. Thus, Cal OWNS Mitch, and in turn can do whatever he pleases with ZERO repercussions.
My hope has always been that with all of the criticism Cal has received over the past 3 seasons with it really heating up the last 3 months, his ENORMOUS EGO would drive him to work extra hard to prove the fans and media wrong. However, he has done just the opposite and said “To heck with everyone, I’m just going to draw a FAT CHECK and do the bare minimum”.
