Based on the following criteria...

1. The guy is obviously well connected
2. Matt Jones said it would shock people if they knew who it was.
3. Matt Jones actually said today that the only guy who will survive this mess is Tom Jurich because "he's the only one with any intelligence in the whole group"

....I say his source is....Tom Jurich.

It's a small state...I'm sure someone working at uofl is working there because it's a job, not because they love uofl. Like 90% of the state they are probably a UK fan, but tjey happen to be working for the dark side.

I initially thought the same thing since Matt stated that it would "shock" the UofL fans if the knew who it was.

However, I do have some questions though:
Does Jurich trust Matt to keep it a secret from now on?
Does Matt trade the info for a promise to shield Jurich?
Does Matt double cross Jurich in the end for a final "Up yours"?

So after thinking about it, I don't anymore.

I'm beginning to think it's a former UK player close to Rick, that wants to work his way back into the #BBN's good graces.

Derek Anderson?

Then I thought about Andre Mcgee.

Matt was awfully harsh on Katina Powell in regard to how this has ruined his career.

Maybe "good graces" was a little harsh, just noting that Turner is currently on the UofL staff, McCarty was at one time and Anderson said some controversial things about UK fans with respect to Pitino in the past.

I'm just guessing about who the "source" may be and "why". It's all just speculation.

He reports the news...Im sure your friends, like all uofl fans, are gullible to just have one side of the story and run with it to fit their delusion. Matt has pretty much been right every time...when are uofl fans going to wake up into reality and realize hey maybe this guy has the real information about our program...nah they'd rather turn their head and believe whatever gives them false hope. It isn't life or death. The people running their program tried to cheat at a game, with hookers no less. Like a child, they should admit their bad behavior and accept punishment. If they could do that I think people would lay off a little. But still, they refuse.

Well I don't know what "long time UK crowd" you are talking about because this long time UK fan loves how he needles ul and their pitiful fans.

I have friends that are ul fans too. And I don't rub it in to them but the Internet and media types? Screw them!

While youre busy taking the high moral road here, maybe you should tell your friends not to support a program full of men that have affairs, sex in public, abortions and hire hookers for 18 year old boys. Just a thought.

Self-promotion trumps all else with these types. I've said it before, when Marc Maggard came along Jones completely adopted his style as his own and never looked back. Right down to the Maggettes that flock to every thread to defend his every word and especially the ones that keep posting "MJ said..." threads on this board as free advertisement. Marc Maggard 101 playbook over and over again. Probably will end the same way, too.

I'm 48 and have been a Wildcat fan since I first knew what a basketball was. I've hated UofL since before we were forced to play them in the NCAA tournament. I've jawed back and forth with their crappy fanbase since the rivalry was renewed. I've watched them launch vile, hate-filled attacks at our program, players, coaches and fans. While MJ and I have very little common ground on politics, he has been a God-send when it comes to UK vs. UofL.
They deserve everything they get and much more.
Also, please tell your UofL friends I said "BURN UofL, BURN!"
