Massacre on Bourbon St, 10 dead 30 injured

I've probably had MSNBC on my TV for two hours over the last eight years to briefly check out how Steve Kornacki covered the 2020 election results as they came in. Maddow and most others on that network are insufferable. I watch zero cable news.
It’s a joke man. I try to stay away from cable news too. Most snippets I see of it are on social media.

Well I just heard that Tesla said the truck wasn't in self driving mode when it pulled up to the building... so that apparently takes one choice off the bingo card.

Just so we're clear though... They won't even shake a woman's hand.... and we funded these people overthrowing Assad. We are in this strange area where they prove me right all the time yet people here say I'm racist for pointing this out...... And like I said... we need to get out of all this nonsense.

Trump put something out on Truth shortly after the attack heavily implying the terrorist was an illegal immigrant. I don't think that's responsible for a President Elect.

Securing the border can be a priority and we can deal in facts about who the terrorist was. The arguments about border security should be made on their own merits and we shouldn't need to immediately jump to conclusions after a terrorist attack to strengthen the argument for border security.

And for what it's worth, the left needs to do the same when they criticize Trump. Deal in facts and don't take things out of context and let your arguments stand on their own merits.
So he “ implied” something shortly after the attack because it was reported the Truck had crossed the border, which it did.

That’s what you’re upset about?

I understand where you’re coming from and completely agree about politicians using context.

Tesla truck bomber apparently sent emails to media before explosion to whistleblow on war crimes he helped cover up in 2019 air strikes in Afghanistan that killed hundreds of civilians. This led to him emailing a separate manifesto alleging he was being targeted by the federal government because of the whistleblowing and states that both China and the US have anti-gravity drones and China frequently flies them over the East Coast.

Pretty wild stuff. Not sure what to make of it.

Newsweek article, including full text of manifesto.

Fox reported that it had crossed the border 2 weeks before and it turned out it was actually in November. I get that you want to defend Fox (and Trump) to say they got it partially right but whether it is 2 weeks or 2 months obviously matters a lot.

It’s not an accident. It’s literally intentional.

Joe Rogan is taking horse medicine.

I am sure your outrage goes beyond Fox. Remember the editing done for Kamala’s 60 Minutes interview? Dude, you must be outraged 24/7.
“These people don’t get the benefit of the doubt from me. Not when it takes them much longer to determine the truth that it took me.”

Okay, bub. CNC, Fox, R, D, MSNBC. It’s all the same to me. Lie to push your narrative and I’m opposed to that. I just don’t know how much more clear I can be.

Seems odd that someone with special forces training and know how, who claims to be on the run to Mexico, with the Feds chasing him, claiming to have a “massive” vehicle borne IED, would put fireworks in a vehicle with internet connected FSD capabilities. Seems like it’d be pretty damn easy to track, and pretty easy to hack.

After Mercedes C250 coupe, I’d think any Tesla would rank next with types of vehicles you shouldn’t drive while whistleblowing and running from the FBI.

I don’t get my news from Fox, but I don’t avoid Fox for that very reason. We could fill threads about false political narratives, spin, and omissions for every major network. Seriously, your rants could be justifiably posted about any of them. It just seems the liberal leaning posters here only focus on Fox. Why don’t suppose that is? Hhhhmmmmm. Waiting for the rocket scientists to explain.

Because having the same outcry and demand to fix mass shootings and political assassination attempts by native Americans would require them to look inward at the root cause of a lot of America's problems and admit that America might not be the perfect country they think it is or that their preferred political party actually has zero solutions. It's easier just to blame someone else and plug your years then to look at the problem objectively.
Finally, somebody that understands what my sarcastic post was getting at. The other 2 whack jobs didn't read and comprehend what I was getting at, instead labeled me "one of those guys" and tried to put me on one side of the political isle. They couldn't have been further from the truth, I do not do politics and favor one side. Never have, nor will, post in the political thread as I simply do not discuss thae shit stain topic that makes you pick a side. That is what is wrong with the US, you have to pick a side, no matter their qualifications.

In the email, he says he was purposefully trying to maintain a high public profile. That and the protective design of the cybertruck appear to be why he chose it.

Whether the stuff of about war crimes and anti-gravity drones has any merit or is just a final Eff You to the government to spread crazy conspiracy, I would only be speculating.

"freedom"... Funny. I used to be able to board a plane and not have to get sexually harassed. I used to be able to enter a public building without going through metal detectors and Xray machines. What some of you don't want to admit is that there are people out there that would kill all of you. They don't just want to kill 15.... that was just all they got on this one. They are planning and gearing up for more. Most American's may have forgotten about Afghan and Iraq wars but many muslims haven't and they still want payback and they still want us out of the Middle East.

Now I'd love to get out of the middle east. Lets just drill baby drill and quit relying on arab oil. So I'm not coming at this from the "lets go over there and kill everyone". I actually want to prevent attacks so politicians and intel guys don't whip up the populace into a frenzy to "go over there kill the bad guys". People have been killing each other for millennia but you can look at crime and types of crime and what isn't even considered a crime and see if we are even compatible to peacefully coexist with most Muslims in the world.

I mean we live in a country where after massacring defenseless children in a school by our own citizens over and over again we can’t even bring up sensible gun laws that the majority of voters and Americans want and agree to without people flipping out and arguments starting but you guys are wanting the government to target and place restrictions on Muslims in this country because some have been responsible for shootings? I mean do we all live in the same country and experience the same reality? Nothing will happen. That has been made abundantly clear by not even instituting the most basic common sense gun laws that the majority of the country are in favor for. Instituting some sort of anti-Muslim laws aren’t happening. It’s kind of funny seeing how the people against gun restrictions are pro Muslim restrictions and vice versa. If you substitute Muslim for gun it’s the opposite sides agreeing. Pretty funny, maybe this will bring people together because now they see things from the others perspective 🙄

The Vegas incident was a WT… from the second it happened. Apparently suffered from PTSD so any of his allegations might be taken with a grain of salt.

Have they figured out how he shot himself in the head and ignited the explosion?

I agree with everything you said here, but the party in power now (or shortly) is the one both standing in the way of gun control laws and would be pro anti-Muslim laws. While getting anything through a Senate filibuster would be tough, eliminating the filibuster isn't out of the question and a lot can be done with Executive Orders.

No whacko, I simply asked a question "how to you deport American citizens" ? If they commit a crime, you can't just send them to another country. You are an idiot or can't comprehend,,, or both. Another whacko making assumptions about someone they know not a damn thing about. The whole sarcastic post of mine he responded to, was pertaining to the fact Americans do not go crazy like they do when a supposed terrorist commits these terrible acts. When it is carried out by a full blooded Murican, there is outcry, but not as strong as when a "less than 100% American" does it.
No, I answered you but you don’t get it. That man was radicalized by something. It’s not a question about where to deport him, or the next one, or the next one, or the NEXT one. The question is what to do about the source of the radicalization. How long are some of you going to pretend that assimilation is happening?

There’s a very reasonable chance either/both of these guys were radicalized by the US Army.

Deport all servicemen and women?

If only the demand for media veracity were this strong all the time.

The idea of deporting US citizens is funny. Deport them where? Just some random Muslim country?

The New Orleans dude is an American black guy. His father became a Black Muslim and changed his own name and gave his kids Muslim names.

There's an American gold medalist turned pro wrestler named Kurt Angle who had turned heel. A fan at a Louisville show had a sign that said "DEPORT KURT ANGLE". Some Irish gents on a podcast who reviewed the show noticed the sign, laughed, and said "deport him to where??"

That's current America, at least online. A politician recently said the group of Haitians working in an OH town should be deported to...Venezuela. And some were like..."yeah, put them in another country. I don't care - just get them out of America." We can't blame radicalization from within and we can't blame those who look or talk like us for anything. It has to be Mexico, China, Muslims, Russia, or the dark skinned guy down the road who's quiet but his name is tough to get right. Remove every Muslim and declare Christianity America's religion. That solving anything or just making you feel a bit more comfortable? Who are you blaming next and what are we doing with all the guys who looks like your buddy Jeff from Pleasantville, USA who shoot up schools and businesses? Folks online put up more of a fight about "saving the children" from liberalism than bullets within the walls they're learning in. That's why the little bit of anti-Muslim buzz here is predictable and silly.

Some here are showing their hand by using this act of violence to suggest taking Muslims out of the equation but offer no solutions or seemingly even care if someone who looks like one of us does something terrible, like a mass shooting. A prayer circle while holding a lit candle is the best we've got for that.

I am by no means suggesting we do so, but we have done this before. In the '50s we implemented Operation Wetback (yes that was the actual name) which was a mass deportation of Mexicans from the US. Many US citizens were deported to Mexico during this campaign.

I didn’t read any of that shit but we should deport Nightwish.

I’m not defending Fox or Trump, I’m stating that it was reported, and everyone thought the same thing initially, a foreign national had been the culprit.

No Bill everyone wasn’t reporting or thinking that. I promise you and I don’t follow the same news sites and very few ever brought that up. Then again you were the guy that thought Rudy giving the press conference in front of the four seasons landscaping company (next to the porn shop) in Philly was done on purpose also

Where did I say everyone was reporting it?

I still believe that about the press conference.

I know you do Bill. I used to think you were definitely conservative but reasonable in your thinking. The Rudy thing changed my mind
I’m still reasonable, why would Trumps lawyer schedule a press conference at a hotel in direct competition with his clients family run hotels?
Trump owns a golf course in Philly, there’s a Trump tower in Philly, it’s the reasonable thought process that Rudy intentionally had that press conference there for a reason.

Some of you have a hard time differentiating between “reporting” and “wild-ass speculation.”
You’ve hit the nail on the head. In the afternath speculation runs rampant in situations like the attack, that’s my point.

Actual events that seem ominous at first turn out inconsequential as the investigation unfolds. It’s always been that way and it always will, and social media just amplifies it.

👍 bud. Because Rudy G is a completely normal actor????

So when you heard the truck came across the border you didn’t think it belonged to a foreign national, bullshit.
And that right there is exactly why that was reported so loudly by certain news sources. To make you think the culprit was an illegal immigrant before any evidence came out. It was done purely to get people angrier.

And this is what the President Elect said just hours after the attack before any real facts were known. He is 100% priming you to blame illegal immigrants. If he's wrong, oh well you're still even more angry about illegal immigrants than you were before. If he's right, he gloats about it and says I told you so for weeks. It's irresponsible as hell and its only purpose is to get his supporters foaming at the mouth.

B7jlNql.png

I’m sure fixing this will prevent the next terrorist attack. It’s the important things, I guess.
Do you not think facts are also important? I wasn't aware only one thing could be important at a time. Is it really healthy for our society for news agencies to start speculating on things they want to be true to push their narrative before we know the facts?

So when you heard the truck came across the border you didn’t think it belonged to a foreign national, bullshit.

I actually thought there was probably a ton of conflicting, unreliable information so I should probably wait to get a little more certainty before stating opinions.

My BS meter is always on, but particularly in the very early moments after a major event.
