Massacre on Bourbon St, 10 dead 30 injured

He was a 42 year old from Texas who was active duty in the Army for 9 years and deployed to Afghanistan. All the reports of him coming over from Mexico were premature by people who wanted that narrative to be true.

I'm still seeing many reports that he converted to Islam and has actually been reported to the COC by other individuals over his radicalized behavior. Now, that's not definitely true.. but it sure seems to be point to a radicalized Muslim, regardless if he was born that way or not.

Graduated from Central Georgia State University (I think that is the name) and worked for Delloitte and Accenture. Had two ex wives and bad financial trouble.

Are some of you conflating the explosion in front of the Trump Tower in Las Vegas today? That was a Turo rental truck (Tesla Cybertruck). Or was the NO vehicle also a Turo rental? Police in NO think he did not act alone, FWIW.

Sometimes people are just crazy, fall through societal cracks, and evil cannot be stopped. That's what is said after every mass shooting and school shooting. Pretty simple to point on a map at a border and say, "bad people there, good people here. Close that invisible line and bad people stay over there." He appears to be a 42 year old Army vet from Texas. Sounds like he was going to make this happen no matter what. It's sick and depressing and yes, more border security is needed and warranted. But bad people are going to do bad things. It's a realization I wish wasn't so but in a country where Americans seemingly enjoy doing drugs and murdering each other on a weekly basis, it's a realization we need to realize is happening.

Islamic terrorist....go ahead, say it. C'mon, you can do it. Islamic terrorist.

Wait a second, I am confused. Earlier you stated he came over from Mexico. Where did you get that info from?

Think they were both Turo rentals. Which doesn’t necessarily mean anything other than maybe easier to obtain a specific type of vehicle they were looking for?

Of course...and a US citizen and veteran. I'm unclear at the moment what this attack has to do with the border though. I've said in the past we've got anger, mental, and radicalization issues in this large country of ours. I don't know how to deal with all that but just saying "the border" or (for instance) kicking Muslims out of the country who are legally here on the off chance that one of them may do something awful at some point isn't a realistic solution. Many say "welp, evil exists...what can ya do?" when a mass shooting happens. Welp, evil exists. What can you do?

Liberals are trash. They caused this.

Nightwish is no better than ISIS

I don't like blaming NO for not having the barricades up. Every major city during rush hour has hundreds of people out and about. You could do the same amount of damage then.

Yeah not like they had them or could have ever expected to need them with a big football game in town drawing thousands of visitors.

Muslims are Trumpers?
Actually, Muslims vote predominantly for Jill Stein, per CAIR. Seems legit.

@Tskware -- from current reports, it appears that both the Tesla truck explosion and the NO attack were committed by Army vets using Turo rentals on New Year's Day. The NO attacker had an ISIS flag in his truck. Wouldn't shock if the Tesla had one, too, and it was burned up.

With the FBI openly announcing the NO attacker likely did not act alone (and that attack coming first), I'd say the early line is on this being a concerted ISIS plot to have multiple lone wolf attackers hit on a holiday in different parts of America. That's where I'd put my money, any way.

How are you going to do the same amount of damage w/ hundreds of cars on the road during rush hour?

It's been said this truck crossed the southern border two days ago. Unfortunately, we will see more and more of this in the coming years as a result of many years of open borders. Many of the third world countries emptied their prisons knowing their problem people are now the United States' problems. If the suspect turns out to be an illegal alien (yes, I said alien and not migrant), I fully expect the MSM to do their best to bury this story.

Any updates here?

Curious to hear what the best policy is to keep American born US Army veterans out of the country.

^ Highlights that we have enough of our own problems...we need to do our best to stop other problems from coming in illegally and untracked. We know terror watch listers have been caught at border - how many are in and plot with people like this American Jabbar?

dangerous and we have likely been lucky to date.

Ah, yes. We have never seen traitors or outside influencers with nefaruious intentions infiltrate our government recently. The majority of our federal government is compromised in some fashion as we've seen with the President, the FBI, IRS, DOJ, etc.

NO attacker went to Egypt for 10 days last year. Could be a coincidence and Egypt isn't exactly known for its Islamic militance compared to the rest of the region. Still interesting, especially since the guy apparently had a ton of self-imposed financial issues, if current reports are accurate.

I'm glad @PTI (pti) is alive and well to make his standard nonsensical snarky posts, though.

Islamic terrorists, Antisemitism terrorists, Illegal Alien terrorists and criminals, Trans terrorists, BLM terrorists, Antifa terrorists, Trump assassins, CEO killer, and various other Marxist trash, ...

All spawned and celebrated by shitbag leftist pRoGrEsSiVe!11!! scum. Including those in our current ideologically radical government and it's agencies.

Went to Egypt for 10 whole days? Wow. He also served 9 years for the United States Army.

It's just truly a shame that so many people leap at the opportunity to promote their own narrative as they see fit in the wake of any tragedy.

No one is promoting "their own" narrative as they see fit. It is pretty much in stone what transpired. If you need it spelled out for you then here ya go....Islamic terrorists/Isis want to kill Americans. How's that for a narrative?

It has been confirmed that it was a rental, but I too saw an earlier report that it came across the Mexican border.
Yes, but that was Fox News. They were the only ones who reported that. So you should've known it was bull shit. Can we all agree, everything that's on Fox news is probably a lie and should only be repeated if you see it confirmed by a reputable source. In fact, just stop watching. It's nice to have your ideas supported, but you're only lying to yourself.

The NO vehicle was also rented through the Turo App.

There’s nothing “in stone” about this at all. His ISIS connections appear to be that he owned a flag, and expressed interest in joining. So, how does a Texas army vet join ISIS? Fill out an app online? Mail in a check for dues? Attend a membership drive?

Less than 24 hours ago, it was still being reported he had accomplices that had planted bombs all across the city. So spare me the “in stone” nonsense.
