It’s hard to understand why some sick people think that by destroying others’ lives that anything is accomplished. Prayers for all the affected families of this tragic event.
Kat, I don't believe the word 'think' applies to this sick bunch that are routinely doing these filthy deeds.

Thamel reported that “devices” have been found around the French Quarter and that people who work in the Superdome have been told to stay home.

It's been said this truck crossed the southern border two days ago. Unfortunately, we will see more and more of this in the coming years as a result of many years of open borders. Many of the third world countries emptied their prisons knowing their problem people are now the United States' problems. If the suspect turns out to be an illegal alien (yes, I said alien and not migrant), I fully expect the MSM to do their best to bury this story.

Where did you see that? The truck was a rental. I'd like to see your link.

Truck Crossed Southern Border

Scroll down several stories to find the story.
Way, way down that Fox News story (could have guessed that was the source) it said it crossed the border in mid November, but definitely doesn't say 2 days ago and probably has nothing to do with the terrorist.

I figured with the follow up political comments that have no business here on this board that the truck statement was probably misleading and/or incorrect. Looks like I was right.

I saw that story said mid November but I read an earlier story that said two days ago. It may have been a rental vehicle and if so, that makes sense. But it doesn't change the fact that open borders are dangerous. If you don't think so, then take the locks off your doors and welcome everybody in your home, while you pay for everything.

Suspect was also a a US citizen. There really isn't a place for this politics crap here. Especially if you're just posting intentionally misleading info to an audience of college football fans who aren't here to have propaganda spouted at them.

A country with no borders is not a real country

Your first post. And the link didn't back up what you said.
And a later story recanted that info and said sources that said that were incorrect. Doesn't mean I didn't read it or purposely link what I said.

Don't get bent out of shape just because you don't agree with me politically. If you feel so strongly about open borders, post your home address. I'll grab a bunch of criminals and gang members off the streets and we'll come over and make ourselves at home while you pay for everything. If you oppose to this then you are xenophobic and racist.

The truck was rented from a thing called Turo, where individual rent their vehicle to someone, at least that is being reported in UGA site. Not confirmed but a UGA student among the injured and death toll at 15.

In an unrelated incident Kirby Smart's dad fell, broke his hip and is scheduled for surgery.

You have no idea whether I agree with you politically.

Where I don't agree you is that this board isn't the place to post stuff like that. And even more so when it's wrong.

If you want to spout propaganda, find a different place to do it. One where they don't even care if it's true or not.

What are you going on about? The attacker was a US citizen and a US army vet.

One things for sure, this is going to give an immense shot in the arm to border protection. Sad that we needed to lose innocent lives for this to happen. But an Isis terrorist who came over from the Mexico border? Not good.

The Fort Hood shooter was also a soldier and an American citizen. What do they have in common? Hmmmm……

Evidently, there are reports of his vehicle coming over the Mexican border somewhat recently. Not sure if lax border security has anything specifically to do with this event, but given there are a handful of suspects/potential partners in crime that NOPD identified on surveillance cameras...who knows?

Sometimes people are just crazy, fall through societal cracks, and evil cannot be stopped. That's what is said after every mass shooting and school shooting. Pretty simple to point on a map at a border and say, "bad people there, good people here. Close that invisible line and bad people stay over there." He appears to be a 42 year old Army vet from Texas. Sounds like he was going to make this happen no matter what. It's sick and depressing and yes, more border security is needed and warranted. But bad people are going to do bad things. It's a realization I wish wasn't so but in a country where Americans seemingly enjoy doing drugs and murdering each other on a weekly basis, it's a realization we need to realize is happening.

The use of electrical vehicles for their speed may become a thing. That lightning pickup is basically a muscle car in a truck.

Having a couple of trucks or heavy equipment at each entry point blocking that street would have solved a lot of problems though.

The fact that they have a record of the truck crossing the border kind of shows there's not lax security at the border though. The truck was rented on Turo, it was very likely someone else who took it over the border and back. If someone is trying to sneak a vehicle with explosives or whatever else into this country they aren't going to a manned border crossing.

The Lightning is full time all wheel drive and virtually silent. It’s also the same body and color of the police F150s. There was some serious planning done.
