After Kentucky's 41-14 loss to Louisville in the Governor's Cup, Mark Stoops vowed he would be back to fix Kentucky's issues next season.

If I’ve learned anything from participating on this board it’s these two things:

1. Fade the common sentiment of the board and you’ll be right more than wrong.

2. Cynical feelings change every year sometime around May when people get excited for the next season.

In other words, posters are usually too hyped for the next season in late Nov after 7-9 wins, and too down on next season if 4-6 wins in late Nov. Then the opposite from April/May to August.

The portal transforms rosters so I don’t know how anyone can predict anything anymore. Good incoming players can be busts. Your opponents could all pay for scrubs so your “fine” transfers look better than they are! Etc.

I don’t see the point to try and predict anything anymore.

if we have the new founded resources they are claiming we have to be more competitive now, then great, we can flip the roster and hopefully get better talent. What’s that get us 2-3 more wins and a bowl game? New NIL resources isn’t fixing clock management issues, or stupid drive killing penalties or poor play calling or poor 3rd and long defense. I hope part of his plan is to look in the mirror as well and resolve those things. We had the roster to be far more competitive than we were. It was purely coaching that cost us this season.

I think some of you are getting stirred up over nothing. What else is he supposed to say at that point? Even if he he did plan to leave, that wouldn't be the time or place to announce it.

Our former basketball coach said he wasn't leaving after the season as well.

And Stoops is laughing all the way to the bank. Very sad that UK has been saddled with a coach they can't fire
because of an overwhelming contract.
