Looks like Vince Marrow is sitting in for Stoops tonight on the radio show. I'll share the major talking points here for those of you who aren't able to listen along to the live broadcast...
* Team looked fresh today at practice. Needed that week to get healthy. "Guys looked pretty fast out there today."
* Was good to see Maxwell Hairston back out there today. He made a "Wow" play where Vince had forgotten he was back out there. "Who was that? Oh, that's an NFL Draft pick."
* Asked if there are some young guys who might be big stars in the future but people don't much about them yet... A bunch of them, Marrow said. Nichols is one on defense who has gotten a chance to get some important snaps here lately. Thinks Malachi Wood is going to be "big time." Says he's going to be playing on Sundays in the future. Likes Selm a lot, too. Those guys aren't completely ready to be thrown into the fire, but they're battling and showing some stuff.
* Really happy with how Wilcox is running the ball. "We found a real gem, there." Excited about his future.
* Cutter Boley has an "elite arm." Fits in well with his teammates. Leadership qualities you want from a QB. He threw an out route on a dime today in practice that got everyone's attention. Vince says he reminds him of a young Tim Couch. Has moxie, that "it" factor. I can't wait to see it unleashed when he takes the reins.
* The portal really works when you hit on the right guys, Marrow said. It's become more and more important to dig in and learn as much as possible about the guys you're pursuing.
* Hardley Gilmore is a guy with a ton of upside. He's going to be a big-time player. Has a big "catch radius" and he's got no fear. Thinks he's going to be an All-SEC type of guy someday.
