Mark Pope with Dillingham

I don’t think he ever wanted or expected to come off the bench. Testament to what a good kid he was that he didn’t let it hold him back and never publicly made a stink about it that I heard about.

What’s what got to complain about?

He’s a twenty year old millionaire living his NBA dream.

The fans can complain but he made out well in the deal

Gotta love seeing Rob and Coach embrace 🥹. I’d love to see Reed come back too (He’s Judas to some of you I know). But to embrace Cals guys is the best way to forever neutralize Cal. This program is so much bigger than the coach and Mark Pope gets that. Cal never did. It was an ego trip for him to get players to the league.

It's just a matter of time until he wins Boogie over, and then we've got the former Cal guys locked in with Pope. John Wall is undoubtedly making the sale's pitch.

It's a shame that Johnny Clam Chow-duh couldn't just have retired or become a figurehead GM for some pro team. He sucks at coaching, and this era doesn't favor his style.

He could have taken the ambassador gig, or even had it extended indefinitely.

Yet he made the S16 with retreads and kicked Pitino’s ass once again.

It was long past time for Cal to move on from UK.

But that doesn’t change that he is a a great coach and the second winningest coach at UK.

Cal always got that the program was bigger than anyone. Including him. It’s just revisionist history to say otherwise.

Seems his point was clear. He could have complained about not starting. He could have been a bad teammate and disrupted things in the locker room. He didn’t and the point, to be made again, is that he’s a fine young man and a good teammate.

Most of the goobers here truly believe cal is the reason their lives suck.

Instead of he got the most out of Reed and dilly they complain about the first two minutes of game action even though they both played starter minutes.

Was 100% time to move on. It’s 100% ridiculous how some people think he’s public enemy number 1. It would be in OUR best interest to have him back involved in the program in a few years when he retires.

Cal absolutely thought the program was about him. He absolutely expected us to embrace his priorities and celebrate the draft, not the tournament.

It seems natural to me that any coach wants to embrace former players of the school he represents. In this case Dillingham and Pope played for the same team.

Speaking of revisionist. Sorry bro no tournament wins that matter in over half a decade says he sucks. He’s a great recruiter and his assistance kept him squared away in the games.

Sorry, don’t want cal anywhere near our program again. Don’t think any coach worth their Salt would want him around either.

The ONLY difference between the first half of Cal and the second half of Cal was .........winning and losing.

That's it.

I just don't agree with the whole "oh things change" he changed. No he didn't. His recruiting was marginally worse in the second half and his coaching couldn't overcome that. That's all.

Well ya, that’s the point. He never adapted or changed his style as the game evolved and so his offense became antiquated and his defense wasn’t as effective. That’s why Saban was so highly regarded. The last 6 or so years he coached he completely changed his style from defense heavy and run game to a more uptempo pass first offense. Cal is still coaching the same way he was in 2010 and the game has passed him by. Ironically he beat two guys in the tournament that people said the same thing about: Self still running the high low big heavy offense and Pitino focusing on midrange. Barkley even commented at half time of the St John’s/Arkansas game how it was a like an old school throwback 90s style game.
