I’m confused. Does this mean BG is confirmed to be leaving? Feel like I’m missing the point
He had two passes last night that were elite.Yeah I’m not sure he can run point-center like Pope likes, because the decision making isn’t there yet, but he could be a good two-way stretch 4. But who knows, maybe he can really grow this offseason in the facilitating and decision making department. I just think his lack of maturity/poise hurts him in that department.
He's sad because that was the final home game of the season. He didn't indicate that it was his final UK home game ever.I’m confused. Does this mean BG is confirmed to be leaving? Feel like I’m missing the point
Just to throw open three, make good rick and roll, and play good defenceIf he moves into Carr’s position next year I can see him shooting the corner 3 and the top of the key when playing the 5. He might get the shots, I just want to see him get to 36-38% for next season
Good Rick and rollJust to throw open three, make good rick and roll, and play good defence
He will be a beast
Do not need him to be the passing center like Amari
Some of you have a problem with every player though. I hope he returns…I see big dividends in the future with the big fella. Needs to put on some weight but can be a weaponHard pass on Garrison shooting 5-6 3’s per game! In fact I say let the kid transfer if that’s what he’s entertaining. IMHO, I hope he gets it going and last night was a good start but I’m very skeptical. That said, great game for the big fella last night!!!
When has Pope done that though? BG has been been getting better n better all season from 3. No reason to think he won't shoot 3 to 5 a game.I seriously doubt that. Probably just more hyperbole.
Yep.. Garrison is shooting 38% from 3 (3rd best on team) since conference started in Jan and Oweh is 25%..When has Pope done that though? BG has been been getting better n better all season from 3. No reason to think he won't shoot 3 to 5 a game.
I love Oweh but rather BG shoot it from 3 right now .
He has potential to be stretch 4, he shoots better than CarrYep.. Garrison is shooting 38% from 3 (3rd best on team) since conference started in Jan and Oweh is 25%..
He had two passes last night that were elite.
One on a backdoor pass to Chandler and one where he pump faked on three, drove the lane, then kicked to the wing for an open three.
He's a good passer for a big man.
A junior Garrison should be good enough to roll with.I agree he can be a good passer, the question is can he be good enough for us to be elite as a team. We’ve all seen him make some really good passes this year, so there is some obvious potential there. But he’s also made plenty of boneheaded passes too and seems a little less confident than Williams in that role. I think he has definitely improved in this area this year, and he will certainly be the big man most familiar with the system next year. It will be interesting to see how Pope uses him if he stays. We will need to find another center that can run the offense in the portal because Moreno probably won’t be ready for that. I hope whoever we find can run the offense better than Garrison. If not, we roll with Garrison and hope he is good enough for us to make some noise in March.
Big Z really would fit Pope’s scheme so well. It’s a shame he couldn’t see that!Mr. Garrison had: 15 pts 2 reb 4 ast 3 st 1 blk last night.
His rebounds per 40 minutes is well below Williams, but a little above Carr. His ast/to ratio is actually significantly higher than Williams. I hope we have him the next two years. Add two portal big men to go with Garrison/Moreno, and we'll be good in the front court.
Garrison doesn’t have to be elite on offense to help us next year. With dynamic guards that can get to the paint off the bounce, having a 5 that can drill a three opens up a world of possibilities. Young man needs to get engaged defensively and put on some weight in the offseason thoughA junior Garrison should be good enough to roll with.
The 1997 team that was a regulation free throw away from winning it all rotated a pretty mid Nazr Mohammed and Jamaal Magloire at the 5. Neither of those guys were anywhere close to being what they would eventually become later.
I still cringe. At the beginning of the season I would cringe when BG would take threes, I wasn't used to a big man taking threes so casually. At this point though, I really expect them to go in everytime he attempts them.
I’m leery that he would hit 33% from the corner. Out front seems to be his preference. However, that may be due to the position he plays (5). On tge other hand, Carr loves the corner 3.If he moves into Carr’s position next year I can see him shooting the corner 3 and the top of the key when playing the 5. He might get the shots, I just want to see him get to 36-38% for next season
He looked phenomenal last night! His shooting, passing and court awareness was incredible! If Garrison can get up to 35% on his three point shot next year, I don't see why not.
He's already up to 33% this season, and has been shooting at a pretty good clip recently.
I still think Garrison has the potential to be an all-conference player by his senior year.
